VISITOR AGREEMENTS

By registering to visit, purchasing tickets for admission, or participating in our programs at The Nest (by The North Carolina Children’s Museum), you agree to abide by the following visitor agreements and our Health and Safety Guidelines.

A copy of these can be provided to you upon arrival if requested.

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

• Preregistration is required for both paying visitors and members; capacity is limited and walk-ins will be accommodated as space allows.

• Each adult and child requires a ticket. Infants under 3 months are free and do not need to be registered.
• Members must sign in to their member account online before registering for a session to attend for free.

• Each 2-hour Nest Session is ticketed separately. The Nest will close between sessions and all visitors must exit the space during those times.
• The Nest is located next to Binkley Preschool at 1712 Willow Drive

• Use the Willow Drive entrance and continue past Binkley Church to the back parking lot. Signs at the sidewalk will direct you to our front lobby.
• Please note that our space cannot be accessed by any other exterior door in the Binkley building. Entry to The Nest is restricted to authorized visitors of Nest programs. We are not authorized to admit anyone to other areas of the Binkley building.

• All children must be accompanied by an adult caregiver while visiting The Nest.

• Adults cannot visit The Nest without a child unless they are accompanied by a staff member.

• Children must always be supervised by their caregiver during Nest sessions. (No running out to the car alone!) The Nest is not a drop-off facility and staff members are not certified to provide child care.
• Please stay at home when feeling ill – if your child is too sick to go to school, they are also too sick to visit us!
• No firearms or weapons allowed

WHILE YOU’RE HERE

• The Nest is a no-shoes space for children and adults. Socks are recommended!
• Use walking feet while playing
• If your child puts any item in their mouth, please place it in one of the “Tasted Toy” bins. 
• No food or drink other than water bottles and baby bottles are allowed on the exhibit floor. Snacks are allowed in our lobby, indoor seating area (as available), or outdoor courtyard tables.
• We have a single-stall restroom with a changing table.
• Wall hooks and cabinets are available to set aside coats and bags.
• Please do not photograph or record other visitors in the space when taking pictures of your family.
• Phone calls or personal entertainment should not be audible to others; please use headphones instead of the speaker.
• Masks are available upon request
• Disruptive, disrespectful and/or abusive behavior may result in immediate removal from The Nest without refund and may be grounds for revoking membership.
• Visitors may be filmed, recorded, or photographed by The Nest for educational and promotional uses.

• Please inform the front desk staff if you would like to decline photo permission. This is most likely, but not exclusively, to occur during special programs with notification at check in.

WHEN LEAVING

• Please remember to collect all your belongings and art creations. The Nest is not responsible for items left behind. Any unclaimed items that have been in our “Lost and Found” for more than a month will be donated.
• Look for a follow-up survey to ask about your visit!

The Nest reserves the right to refuse service to or revoke access from any patron or group threatening this safe, inclusive, and respectful environment. Behavior warranting such consequences includes, but is not limited to, verbal or physical harassment of or discrimination against another patron, volunteer, or staff member, attempted theft or vandalism, or being under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The Nest holds its mission and values above all else and will pursue all avenues necessary to ensure the provision of a respectful, healthy, and safe place for our staff, volunteers, children, and their caregivers.
