Yes you can replace a lost or damaged Tree Tag.  Tree Tags should last 20 years or more, but if one is lost, it can be replaced.  The new Tree Tag must be placed in exactly the same place as the original, which if fitted correctly, will be 1.3m above the ground.  When reading the new Tag, the Smartphone App will determine the tree location and recognise that it overlaps with an existing tree and will ask if the original Tag is being replaced. In this case, the tree’s database record will be identified by the new Tag’s code.
