"CELEBRATING EASTER" INTERNATIONAL ONLINE POEMS AND CREATIVE WORKS-MINIATURE COMPETITION FOR STUDENTS OF GRADES 3-12

CHAPTER I

GENERAL REGULATIONS

1. The regulations of the international online 3-12th grade integrated English language and art poems and creative works-miniature competition "Celebrating Easter" (hereinafter - the Competition) determine the goals, objectives, organization and evaluation procedure of the participants.

2. The contest is organized by expert English teacher Edita Grubienė and English language teacher methodologist Gražina Avižienienė of Marijampolė Petro Armin Progymnasium.

CHAPTER II

SUBJECT AND GOALS OF THE COMPETITION

3. The theme of the competition is "Celebrating Easter".

 4. The purpose of the competition is to develop the creativity of students in grades 3-12 of general education schools, to develop motivation for self-expression and to promote cooperation between subject teachers and schools.

5. Competition goals:

5.1. to develop students' creative writing skills in English;

5.2. to develop students' creative imagination, to encourage the choice of various expression techniques;

 5.3. promote communication and cooperation between subject teachers and educational institutions.

CHAPTER III

CONDUCT OF THE COMPETITION

 6. The competition will be held from 2024 March 1 until 2024 March 25.

IV PARTICIPANTS

7. Students of grades 3-12 of the Republic of Lithuania and European schools can participate in the competition.

 8. The competition is organized in the following age groups: 3-4 grades, 5-6 grades, 7-8, 9-10 grades and 11-12 grades.

One educational institution can submit up to 4 competitive works to the evaluation committee (it is possible to submit all three works of fifth graders, or two works of fifth graders and one of sixth graders, or one each of fifth, sixth, and seventh graders, etc.).

CHAPTER V

 ORGANIZATION OF THE COMPETITION

 9. The work sent to the competition must meet the goals, tasks and theme of the competition: a creative drawing - a miniature with 2-3 stanzas or a poem of 8-12 lines about Easter and its celebration. The poem must be written in English, Times New Roman 12 font. Submitted on A4 sheet format (the poem can be embedded in the drawing or submitted separately). The poem should have a title that reflects the main idea.

 10. Competition works can be done using various techniques (watercolor, colored pencils, gouache, crayons, etc.).

11. Photos submitted to the competition must be aesthetic and neat (only the drawing with texts is visible in the photo).

12. Photo requirements:

12.1. the photo of the drawing is sent in JPG format up to 10 MG in size;

12.2. the author's class, first name, last name, school and city are indicated in the file name of the photo);

13. Tender requirements:

13.1. the work submitted to the competition must correspond to the topic of the Competition; 13.2. one participant can submit only one work.

14. Teachers whose students will participate in the competition must register at https://forms.gle/XPZNm2g8vYDZmLt39  from March 1 to March 20.

15. Electronic versions of students' creative works and the competition registration table are available by email at konkursascelebratingeaster@gmail.com from 2024. March 1 until March 20

16. The participant's registration form is sent together with the creative work by e-mail. (Attachment No. 1).

CHAPTER VI

PROCEDURE FOR ASSESSMENT OF COMPETITION WORKS 

17. The organizers will evaluate the submitted works until 2024. March 24.  

Competition requirements: corresponding papers will be submitted to the evaluation committee in electronic format. Works submitted too late or plagiarized will not be submitted to the evaluation committee.

18. The commission evaluates works based on evaluation criteria: disclosure of the topic; exclusivity of work; compliance of the work with the tender requirements; creatively, clearly expressed thought in English.

19. The evaluation commission, approved by the order of the director of Marijampolė Petro Armino progymnasium, determines 3 winners in each age group. The evaluation committee reserves the right to assign additional nominations.

20. The results of the competition will be announced from 2024. March 29 Marijampolė Petro Armino Progymnasium website https://www.arminoprogimnazija.lt and Facebook account. The works will be exhibited at https://sites.google.com/view/celebratingeaster/home 

 21. The authors of all works will be awarded with e-certificates from the organizers; in each age group (grades 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-0 and 11-12) the winners of I-III places will be chosen and awarded e-diplomas (we will send them to educational institutions by e-mail).

22. Educators of educational institutions who participated in the competition with students will be informed about the results by e-mail.

CHAPTER VII

FINAL PROVISIONS

25. By submitting a work to the Competition, the author agrees that his personal data will be used to the extent required by these regulations
