Heroic Biopoem Character Introduction

This is the bit your character would actually speak when meeting someone for the first time, perhaps not in its entirety, but this would have been a traditional thing to do for adventuring folk, as your titles and fame are a large part of your character’s identity. The Biopem will be added to throughout your adventures, so keep this in mind when you play D&D. Use your BACKSTORY and your HEAD to TOE DESCRIPTION as a reverence when you draft your Heroic Biopoem.

The list is intended to be a general guide, and teachers should have their own ideas of what’s okay and what isn’t. For the sake of form and creativity, I always allow a range of possibilities. The intent is to use their prior writing and condense it for Beowulf-like introductions and have them add to\change it as they level up and achieve story goals, etc.

The following is an example using Ghesh: A gold dragonborn battle cleric of IO, Dragon God of Battle. Ghesh and his companions freed a city in Avernus, the first layer of Hell. He always used a flail and a shield as his fighting style and has the Soldier background. He recently obtained a “Sunblade” that works as a flail but has only the orb and no chain. He’s proud, brave and very capable. He hails from the Sword Coast near Balder’s Gate.

Ghesh Nemnonis Garsuth,

The Golden Scale, The Shielded Dragon, The Sun Flail

Cleric of IO the Dragon God, Savior of the City, Harrower of the Hells,

and Lord of Resurrection Holdfast

Enemy to darkness, its evils and the cruelty of Devils

Seeker of truth, might and glory

Who fears only shame in failure or loss of comrades

And gives the one life he has to give

For the story that will live ever more in its stead

As the Sword Coast recalls its salvation from Avernus
