Anonymous Student Course Evaluations for Courses Taught by Prof. John Mertens at Trinity College from 1990-2025
Hello! This is a recent endeavor I started in 2025 for anyone who is interested. I invite you to explore my students’ perspectives of my in-class teaching over 35(!) years. A couple of things: I was (surprisingly) able to dig up hard copies of all of my course evaluations for 1990-1998, by finding my old files from when I went up for promotion to Associate Professor in 1998 (and scanned them). I was not able to find them from 1999-2008, but I did find a summary of the evaluations of the engineering courses I taught over that time, from the file of when I went up for promotion to Full Professor in 2008/2009. I believe in 2010 the college changed the technology for the Student Course Evaluations (and it changed again in 2025). As a result, I was able to find electronic copies of the evaluations for Spring 2010 to Spring 2025. I also include the (new) evaluations for the Fall 2025 semester.
