  1.  Introduction

  1. Purpose

Day One Enterprises Inc. (Day One), along with the game publisher (“Riot”) has established these rules for the competitive play of League of Legends (“LoL”) to unify and standardize the rules during Liga Republika as a whole. These rules are intended to preserve the competitive integrity of the tournament and ensure fair play amongst all participants.

        

  1. Acknowledgment

The acknowledgment of the Liga Republika Ruleset and participation in the tournament implies acceptance of the ruleset, the Day One Code of Conduct, and a commitment to abide by the rules, and decisions made by Day One. Day One reserves the right to make decisions not supported in this ruleset. Day One may issue policy documents (“Guidance Documents”) to clarify, explain, or supplement the provisions of the Liga Republika Ruleset.

  1. Application of the Ruleset

Each participating team acknowledges and agrees that a breach of, or failure to comply with the Liga Republika Ruleset, or any Guidance Document by any person or entity who, directly or indirectly is a part of the team or greater organization shall be deemed a breach of, or failure to comply with the Liga Republika Ruleset, or any Guidance Document by the participating team, in all instances, even when the participating team is deemed not at fault.

  1. Disciplinary Action

Day One reserves the right to impart disciplinary procedures as it deems appropriate in relation to any breach of, or failure to comply with the Liga Republika Ruleset.


  1. Tournament Eligibility

  1. Team Requirements

  1. A team is composed of 5-9 members including the substitutes, coaches, and managers.

  1. Five starter players
  2. Substitutes (Optional)
  3. Coach (Optional)

  5. Owner (Optional)
  1. All starters and substitutes must be eligible to participate in the whole duration of the tournament.

  2. There is NO rank requirement for players.

  1. Residency Requirements

  1. At least three (3) of the starter players must be Philippine residents.

  2. Should a team with non-Philippine residents proceed to the main event, the flights of the non-Philippine residents will not be shouldered by the organizer.

  3. Organizers may ask for the verification of residence of participants at any time during the tournament.n

  4. Any player who wishes to compete in the tournament must prove lawful permanent residency to qualify as a resident of the country/territory they wish to compete in. Acceptable documentary evidence includes items such as a passport or proof of age card. This list is not exhaustive.

  1. Player Requirements

  1. Players must be 16 years old and above. If not, then we require written permission from the participant's legal guardian

  2. A player must not register for multiple teams.

  3. Each player must provide at least one (1) valid ID. Valid IDs include:

  1. Player names that are found to be offensive/vulgar will not be tolerated by the organizers. Names that are found to be offensive/vulgar must be changed before the first game of the tournament. Players who do not follow these instructions will be immediately disqualified.

  2. Players need to have a camera to capture a specified point of view of the Players and their surroundings. Players who do not comply with the requirements set forth by the Tournament Officials shall not be permitted to participate in any matches of the Online Event.

  1. Player Licensing

  1. Players who will be receiving prizes will be licensed with the Games and Amusement Board of the Philippines (“GAB”) after the event.

  2. Teams are required to complete the licensing steps in full in order to receive any winnings

  1. Step 1: Attend an online seminar of code of ethics and conduct for esports officials and athletes and oath taking via Zoom app. (Details will be provided by the Organizer)
  2. Step 2: Fill out the attendance form. (Form will be provide by GAB or Organizer)

  4. Step 4: Complete the following requirements:

  1. Teams that have participated in any National, or higher tournaments are disallowed from joining.
  2. Teams and/or Organizations that are currently banned in any major collegiate circuit, or major community tournaments are disallowed from joining.

  1. Teams that have been penalized with disqualification for reasons including, but not limited to of bad sportsmanship, cheating, account fixing, and account boosting.

  1. Players that have played in any professional capacity six (6) months prior to the first game of the tournament.
  2. Players that are currently signed, or part of a professional team.
  3. Players that were part of a disqualified or banned team from major tournaments when the penalties were handed out.


  1. Rosters

  1. Minimum Roster Requirements

  1. Teams must maintain, at all times during Liga Republika, a roster of at least five (5) players.

  1. Roster Deadlines

  1. Team rosters are locked in 72 hours before the first game of the week that the roster is scheduled to play. All team changes made after the roster has officially been locked in will incur in-game penalties or be denied at the sole discretion of tournament officials.

  1. Attendance

  1. Each team agrees to take part in media interviews, press briefings, streaming meetings, sponsor events, photo or video shoots, beneficent occasions, house visits, webcasts, digital recordings, talks, and different media occasions that Day One arranges regarding the advertising and any form of marketing activities.

  1. Media Events must not unduly interfere with a player's game preparation or cooperation.
  1. The sensible and pre-approved costs caused by a player in movement to and from a Media Event will be borne by the organizer. Day One will reserve the privilege to disqualify any player or Team that neglects to join in and take an interest completely in any scheduled Media Event.

  1. Communication

  1. Official Community Channels

  1. Teams are required to submit an email address and a valid Philippine cellular phone number.

  1. Owners of said email addresses, and cellphone numbers are solely responsible for informing the team, and it’s players of any and all communications made.
  1. Players are solely responsible for keeping up-to-date on announcements made on official Discord channels and servers. Any, and all communications made through official Discord channels are considered Guidance Documents for purposes of information dissemination.

  2. Any tournament-related concerns must be addressed via Discord, or email.


  1. Tournament Structure and Prizing

  1. Liga Republika: Kickoff Invitational

  1. Group Stage

  1. Description. The top 8 (eight) teams of the previous season will be directly invited to a best-of-one, round-robin, group stage (Group A and Group B) to determine match-up during the Playoff Stage.
  1. Each group will consist of 6 best-of-one matches.
  2. The top two (2) teams in each group will seeded into the Upper Bracket, with the bottom two (2) teams being seeded into the Lower Bracket.
  1. Side Selection. For each game, the ability to select which side of the map they prefer (hereafter referred to as the “right of side selection”) will be granted to the higher-seeded team. In cases where teams are of similar standing, then the right of side selection will be determined via coin toss.
  1. Playoff Stage

  1. Description. Eight (8) teams will face off in a double elimination, best-of-one bracket. The first round will see each team drawn into a single best-of-one, with the losers of the Upper Bracket being sent to the Lower Bracket, and the losers of the Lower Bracket being eliminated from the tournament. The second round will have the Lower Bracket play a single best-of-one, with the loser being eliminated from the tournament. The third round will have the Upper Bracket then play a single best-of-one, with the losers being sent to the Lower Bracket to play the next round. This continues until there are only two (2) teams left in each bracket.
  2. Side Selection. The right of side selection will be granted to the higher-seeded team. In cases where teams are of similar standing, then the right of side selection will be determined via coin toss.
  1. Upper Bracket and Lower Bracket Finals

  1. Description. The two (2) remaining teams in each bracket will face off in a best-of-three. The winner will proceed to the grand finals, with the loser being eliminated.
  1. The winner of the Upper Bracket final will proceed to the grand finals. The loser will be relegated to the lower bracket finals.
  2. The winner of the Lower Bracket final will proceed to the grand finals. The loser will be eliminated from the finals, and be considered 3rd place.
  1. Side Selection. For the first game of each series, the right of side selection will be granted to the higher-seeded team. In cases where teams are of similar standing, then the right of side selection will be determined via coin toss. In the following games of each series, within any given match, the losing Team of the previous game will have the right of side selection, and their side selection will be due within five (5) minutes of the end of the previous game.
  1. Grand Finals

  1. Description. The final two (2) teams of the tournament will face off in a best-of-five. The winner will be considered the overall champion of the Liga Republika: Invitational.

  1. Description. The top four (4) teams will be seeded into the Liga Republika: Open Group Stage.

  1. Tournament Prizing

  1. Prizing for the Liga Republika: Kickoff Invitational will be comprised of a percentage of a prize pool. Prizes will be awarded with the following distribution:

  1. National, state, and local taxes, including VAT, which are associated with the receipt or use of any prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner. Winners must complete and submit to the Tournament Operator all governmental and tax forms required to receive a cash prize in the country in which Live Events are held.

  1. Liga Republika: Open

  1. Open Qualifiers (Format 1)

  1. Description. A total of three hundred and eighty-four (384) teams may be accommodated during the open qualifiers so long as the Teams abide by the requirements outlined in the Tournament Eligibility portion of this ruleset. Teams will be facing off in 6 single elimination, best-of-one matches. Seeding will be completely random.
  1. The first round, or the Round of 384 (hereafter referred to as the “Ro384” with the number being changed to accurately describe the number of remaining teams) will result in the winner proceeding to the next round, and the loser being eliminated.
  2. The Ro192 will result in the winner proceeding to the next round, and the loser being eliminated.
  3. The Ro96 will result in the winner proceeding to the next round, and the loser being eliminated.
  4. The Ro48 will result in the winner proceeding to the next round, and the loser being eliminated.
  5. The Ro24 will result in the winner being seeded into the Liga Republika: Open Group Stage, and the loser being eliminated.
  1. Side Selection. The right of side selection will be determined by coin toss throughout this stage.
  2. Timeline. The Open Qualifier stage will span one (1) month, with two (2) game days per week.
  1. Open Qualifiers (Format 2)

  1. Description. A total of five hundred and twelve (512) teams may be accommodated each week. Teams will be facing off in 7 single elimination, best-of-one matches. Seeding will be completely random.
  1. The first round, or the Round of 384 (hereafter referred to as the “Ro512” with the number being changed to accurately describe the number of remaining teams) will result in the winner proceeding to the next round, and the loser being eliminated.
  2. The Ro256 will result in the winner proceeding to the next round, and the loser being eliminated.
  3. The Ro128 will result in the winner proceeding to the next round, and the loser being eliminated.
  4. The Ro64 will result in the winner proceeding to the next round, and the loser being eliminated.
  5. The Ro32 will result in the winner proceeding to the next round, and the loser being eliminated.
  6. The Ro16 will result in the winner proceeding to the next round, and the loser being eliminated.
  7. The Ro8  will result in the winners being seeded into the Liga Republika: Open Group Stage, and the loser being eliminated.
  8. The Ro4  will result in the winners being seeded into the Liga Republika: Open Group Stage, and the loser being eliminated.
  9. This will repeat for a total of four (4) weeks until 12 teams have been seeded into the Liga Republika: Open Group Stage.
  1. Side Selection. The right of side selection will be determined by coin toss throughout this stage.
  1. Group Stage

  1. Description. Teams will face off in a best-of-one, double round-robin, group stage (Group A, Group B, Group C, and Group D). The top two (2) teams of each group will then proceed to the Playoff Stage.
  2. Tiebreaker Timing. Tiebreaker games will be played immediately following the final game of the Group Stage for the respective group.
  3. Two-way tie. If two teams are tied after the Group Stage, head-to-head record will be used as the first tiebreaker. If the two teams have an identical head-to-head record, then the teams will play a best-of-one tiebreaker game to determine final standings.
  4. Three-way tie. If three teams are tied after the group stage, head-to-head record will be considered. If the three teams have identical head-to-head records then the teams will play a single round-robin to determine standings.
  1. Playoff Stage

  1. Description. Eight (8) teams will face off in a double elimination, best-of-one bracket. The first round will see each team drawn into a single best-of-one, with the losers being sent to the Lower Bracket, and winners maintaining their positions in the Upper Bracket. The second round will have the Lower Bracket play a single best-of-one, with the loser being eliminated from the tournament. The third round will have the Upper Bracket then play a single best-of-one, with the losers being sent to the Lower Bracket to play the next round. This continues until there are only two (2) teams left in each bracket.
  2. Side Selection. The right of side selection will be granted to the higher-seeded team. In cases where teams are of similar standing, then the right of side selection will be determined via coin toss.

  1. Match Process

  1. Online Events

  1. All tournament schedules will be communicated to participants by the tournament officials through official communication channels.

  2. Teams must be ready at least 30 minutes before the posted schedule.

  3. Schedules may be adjusted due to stream interruptions, and/or fortuitous events. Adjustments and concessions will be made by tournament officials on a case-to-case basis.

  4. The standard grace period for players is 15 minutes. The final decision of disciplinary action will be made by tournament officials on a case-to-case basis.

  5. Internet connection is the participant’s responsibility and is not considered a valid cause for delay. Day One will not be held liable for any issues that arise from a participant’s internet connection.

  6. Participants will be required to report their victories to the tournament admins on the communication platform.

  7. Participants who do not use their registered accounts and/or in-game names (IGNs) will not be considered present.

  1. LAN Events

  1. Arrival at Venue. Members of a Team who are participating in a LAN Event held as part of the tournament must arrive at the venue no later than the time specified by Tournament Organizers.

  2. Restricted Access. Access for Teams to restricted areas of the venue for official Matches is restricted to Team Members, unless otherwise approved in advance, by the Tournament Organizer. Permission to attend Matches is solely at the discretion of the Tournament Organizer

  3. The “Stage or Match Area” is the area immediately surrounding any competition PCs used during Matchplay at a LAN or Online Event. During Matchplay, the presence of Team Members in the Match Area is restricted solely to the active roster of the Teams in play.

  4. Set-up time. To accommodate individual settings and equipment adjustments, Players will be granted the time to make any required changes (hereafter referred to as “Setting Time”).

  1. The default allocation for Setting Time is thirty (30) minutes.
  2. Players must complete all adjustments before the end of their allocated Setting Time.
  3. Players may not leave the Match Area after entering without explicit permission from a tournament official.
  1. Players who are granted permission to leave the Match Area must be accompanied by a tournament official while outside.
  1. Players may request adjustments to the level of lighting directed at the stage. However, there is a minimum level of lighting required by Day One, and it will not be lowered below this level.
  2. If a player encounters any equipment problems during the setup process, they must immediately notify a tournament official.
  1. Team Manager. Managers may be in the Match Area during the Match prep process but must leave before the Champion Select phase and may not return until after the end of the Match.

  2. Coaches. Coaches for the teams participating in a given day’s matches will be granted Match Area access and will be allowed to communicate with their Team during the pick/ban process. No other Team staff will be permitted in the Match Area during this time without the express permission of Tournament Officials.  All coaches will exit the Match Area to a designated position promptly after the pick/ban process ends.

  3. Food & Drinks. No food is allowed in the stage or match area. Only pre-approved drinks by the Tournament Organizer will be allowed.

  1. Alcoholic beverages are explicitly disallowed.
  1. Role of Liga Republika Officials

  1. Head Referee. The “Head Referee” is a Tournament Official who is responsible for the judgments on every Match-related issue, question, and situation that occurs before, during, and immediately following Matchplay. Their oversight includes but is not limited to:

  1. Checking the team roster for every match.
  2. Checking the tournament PC and monitoring the surroundings.
  3. Checking the team’s arrival and readiness.
  4. Declaring the game start.
  5. Ordering pauses/resumes, if applicable.
  6. Giving penalties due to violations of tournament regulations.
  7. Calling the end of the match and checking the results.
  8. Receiving objections and responding.
  1. Referee. The “Referee” (alternatively called a “Marshal”) is a Tournament Official who works on behalf of the Tournament Organizer and is subject to the direction, review, and oversight of the Head Referee. Their oversight includes but is not limited to:

  1. Admitting or denying access to the Match Areas, if applicable.
  2. Carrying out security protocols directed by the Head Referee and other Tournament Officials.
  3. Administering the player checklist and enforcing these rules and policies of the tournament.
  4. Communicating with players about any issues experienced, in-game and out.
  5. Upon request, explaining any bugs or exploits.
  1. Finality of Judgement. All decisions regarding the interpretation of these rules, player eligibility, scheduling and staging of the event, and penalties for misconduct, lie solely with the Head Referee, the decisions of which are final. Head Referee decisions with respect to these rules cannot be appealed and shall not give rise to any claim for monetary damages or any other legal or equitable remedy.

  1. Game Setup

  1. Matches will be played on the current patch available for the LoL Philippines live server.

  2. All games must be played using the Tournament Draft mode with spectators set to “Friend List Only”

  3. All lobbies must be created with passwords determined by the tournament officials.


  1. Pauses and Bugs

  1. Stoppage of Play

  1. Directed Pause. Tournament Officials may order the pause of a match or execute a pause command on any player station at the sole discretion of the tournament officials, at any time.

  2. Authorized Player Pause. Players may only pause a match immediately following any of the events described below, but must immediately signal a tournament official and clarify the cause. Acceptable reasons include:

  1. Physical interference with a player during LAN play (e.g. audience interference, broken equipment, communication issues)
  2. An unintentional disconnection during LAN play (i.e. a player’s PC disconnects during a stage match).
  3. A hardware or software malfunction during LAN play (e.g. monitor power failure, power surge).
  4. An unintentional disconnection during Online play (i.e. a player’s internet connection drops).
  1. A total of five (5) minutes is allocated per team to accommodate unintentional disconnections. It is the sole responsibility of the opposing team to track the amount of time that has lapsed.
  1. Pause Conditions. Games may only be paused under specific circumstances, and disputes and complaints must be raised to tournament officials immediately.

  1. Pauses may not be used if there is a fight on-going.
  2. The opposing team must immediately be notified of the reason for any pauses made.
  3. After a game in which there was a pause, all players who played in that game must stay logged in for 10 minutes to help the adjudicator understand what happened.
  1. Team Conduct

  1. Intention Irrelevant

  1. Unless expressly stated otherwise, offenses and infringements of the Liga Republika Ruleset are punishable, whether or not they were committed intentionally. Attempts to breach, or failure to comply with the Liga Republika Ruleset, or any Guidance Document are also punishable.

  1. Conduct

  1. The following actions will be considered unfair play and will be subject to penalties at the discretion of tournament officials.

  1. Ringing. Playing under another Player’s account or soliciting, inducing, encouraging, or directing someone else to play under another Player’s account.
  2. Deliberate Disconnection. Deliberately disconnecting for improper or unclear reasons.
  3. Cheating. Using any kind of device or third-party program to cheat, or using any resembling means to cheat. Conspiring to cheat also falls under this category, and the involved parties will be dealt with accordingly.
  4. Collusion. Any cooperation or conspiracy to deceive, and/or otherwise rig the outcome of a game. This may occur between players, teams, organizations, and other personnel. The list of conspirators is not exhaustive.
  5. Match-Fixing. No personnel, whether directly or indirectly related to a Team and/or Organization may offer, agree, attempt, or conspire to influence the outcome of a Game or Match by any means.
  6. League Discretion. Any other further act, failure to act, or behavior which in the sole discretion of tournament officials, violates this Ruleset and/or the standards of competitive integrity.
  1. Player Conduct. All participants are expected to exercise courtesy, professionalism, and respect while participating for the duration of the entire tournament. Any posts, or content that may deemed in conflict with these expectations, whether they are made on official tournament platforms, or on personal accounts that may be linked to the players are included. Participating in any action that we reasonably believe does or may defraud any other player, including scamming or social engineering, this list is not exhaustive. Failure to comply with this philosophy may result in disciplinary action at the discretion of the tournament organizer.
  1. Penalties and Punitive Action

  1. Violations of this Ruleset may be sanctioned by the application of one or more of the following disciplinary measures:
  1. Official Warning (public or private);
  2. Loss of the right of side selection;
  3. Loss of ban pick;
  4. Reduction of allotted pause timer;
  5. Game, match, or tournament forfeiture (including disqualification of tournaments in progress and/or exclusion from future tournaments.);
  6. Suspension, disqualification, or ban from one or more Day One events;
  7. Game, match, or tournament played without fans or spectators;
  8. This list is not exhaustive.


  1. Spirit of the Rules

  1. Finality of Decisions

All decisions regarding the interpretation of this Ruleset lie solely with Day One, the decisions of which are final and binding. decisions with respect to these rules cannot be appealed and shall not give rise to any claim for monetary damages or any other legal or equitable remedy.

  1. Rule Changes

This Ruleset may be amended, modified, or supplemented by Day One, from time to time, in order to ensure fair play and integrity of the tournament.

  1. Participation

Participation is at your own risk. Participants must follow the rules. Organizers are not liable for any losses in relation to the event, directly or indirectly, for example in the case of a canceled event, electrical failure, or similar. No person or persons shall hold Day One or its staff liable.

  1. Best Interests of Day One

Tournament Officials at all times act with the necessary authority to preserve the interests of Day One. This power is not constrained by the lack of any specific language in this Ruleset. Tournament Officials may use any form of punitive actions at their disposal against any entity whose conduct is not within the confines of the best interests of Day One.
