Language, Literacy & Communication:

In Welsh we will be working on putting our collection of Welsh questions together into a conversation. We will also learn the Welsh words for farm animals and food.

Each child will develop their phonetic knowledge through our Read Write Inc phonics scheme. Each child will make progress at their own speed, in tailored groups.

We will engage with a variety of texts through Drawing Club - an opportunity to develop imagination and Literacy skills.

Mathematics and Numeracy:

Each child will continue to make individual progress as they journey down their tailor-made Maths Pathway. They will have opportunities to meet each of their Maths Targets through games and activities. These will be mainly one-to-one with an adult to ensure they receive maximum support.

As a class, we will explore the concepts of measurement, more than, less than, equal, tally charts, pictograms, 2D shape, and 3D shape.

Expressive Arts:

The children have daily opportunities for Expressive Arts through the continuous provision.

Each week brings a new ‘Craft Challenge’ for the children to enjoy. These challenges are simple questions planned to inspire the pupils as they answer the questions in their own unique, creative ways.

We will be exploring using music to tell traditional tales such as the Little Red Hen.

R.E

In our class collective worship, we will be learning about key Christian Values, such as: joy, hope, thankfulness, forgiveness, justice, and mercy. We always use Bible stories as a focal point when exploring these values.

We will be learning about the story of Moses through videos and creative activities.

After the story of Moses, we will begin learning about some of the parables told by Jesus.

Humanities:

Our topic for this half term is: ‘Farm’. As we explore this topic, we will learn about nature and our place within it. We will look at various Geographical areas such as weather and agriculture.

Science and Technology:

The children will embark on a weekly ‘Digital Challenge’. These have been planned to give the pupils a range of digital experiences. They also give opportunity for them to improve various digital skills.

We will complete a range of Science Experiments, each with a clear focus: prediction, scientific process, etc.

Health and Well-being:

As we continue exploring our ‘My HappyMind’ scheme, we will be moving onto the ‘Relate’ module. Here, children will learn the importance and benefits of friendship.

As always, children will develop their gross motor skills through PE. We will be looking at Barn Dancing and will begin our Sports Day Practise.
