2026 - 2027

The Student Events and Entertainment Grant supports the development and execution of diverse and engaging events that enhance the campus experience and foster a vibrant student community. The grant seeks to empower registered student organizations to plan and execute social events that require a high level of cultural or subject matter knowledge. By providing funding for event expenses, the grant aims to remove financial barriers to event planning and enable student groups to realize their vision for impactful and memorable events on campus. Ultimately, the grant seeks to enhance the overall campus experience by fostering a sense of community and belonging among students through engaging and inclusive events.

Grant recipients receive up to $1,000 and event inclusion on the Student Unions and Activities Events Calendar.

Eligible events must be:

• The event must be held on campus
• The event must be social in nature to qualify for this initiative. In order to be considered “social in nature”, the event must be:

• Non academic
• For all students
• Capable of hosting 200+ attendees

• The event must have a predominantly University of Minnesota - Twin Cities student audience
• The event must be free for all University of Minnesota - Twin Cities students
• Events being planned in collaboration with Student Events and Entertainment are not eligible for this initiative.
• Events with dates in conflict with stated blackout dates are not eligible for this initiative.
• The event proposal must showcase a high level of cultural context or subject matter knowledge in order to respectfully execute.
• Groups are only eligible for 1 grant per academic year.
