Nov. 23: Street Closings, Parking Restrictions, and Traffic Information
Free Parking until 4:00 p.m.
4:30 p.m. - State Street is closed from College Avenue to Sixth St. Staging area is closed to all traffic except parade units and local residents/businesses. The staging area is the area between College and Sixth on the north and south, and Walnut and Memorial on the east and west.
5:00 p.m. - Lawrence St. from Memorial Drive to Superior St. becomes a one-way eastbound-only.
5:40 p.m. - East/westbound traffic on College Ave. between Richmond St. and Lawe St. is shut down. North/southbound remains open at Richmond, Drew St. and Appleton St. Northbound-only traffic remains open on Morrison St., as does southbound-only on Durkee Street.
6:00 p.m. - Cross traffic at Drew Street is shut down. College/Morrison (northbound only), College/Durkee (southbound only) & College/Appleton intersections remain open.
6:30 p.m. - All cross traffic along College Avenue is shut down. North/southbound remain open at Richmond St. and Lawe St.
6:40 p.m. - Santa Scamper begins!
6:50 p.m. - Pre-parade and food drive begins!
7:00 p.m. - 2021 Downtown Appleton Christmas Parade begins!
Reopening is likely sometime after 10:00 p.m.
Staging area ends north of 6th Street. Closing of staging area begins at 4:30 p.m. Also, Lawrence does not return to normal two-way traffic until after the last parade unit passes State/Lawrence intersection.
