Agenda

Old Business

School spirit wear web store closed on Oct 11. We hope the orders will be ready by the end of the month.
Membership dues - collection still on-going; classes with 90% return rate will receive a treat from PTA!

New Business

Per Chancellor’s Regulations A-660, we must update our bylaws every 3 years. Please review them HERE
We are asking for candy donations for our Harvest Day Table & Treat event on October 30; this event will be held during school hours so all our students will be able to participate. A collection bin will be put out in the main lobby.
We are asking for volunteers to help bag candy and/or help on the day of the event. If you are interested, please email PTA; we will also reach out to those who signed our volunteer sheet.
**In the event that we do not receive enough candy donations, we need the membership’s vote approval to purchase candy to make this event successful for our students.**

Approximate cost: $600-$700

We have collected just over $900 in membership dues! Thank you! Membership dues are on-going, you can send it in anytime.

Family Questions & Concerns:

Mr. Miller is no longer with our school. We no longer have a science teacher and science class. 5th graders will receive science via classroom teachers to prepare for the State Exam in May.
We only have ONE 2nd grade class. Per administration: a SECOND 2nd grade class can open up at any time during the school year if enrollment improves. Currently, there are 30 2nd graders.
We have heard a lot of concerns over the Aspira afterschool program; we do not know when they will make more seats available. If you are still looking for afterschool care in our area: https://discoverdycd.dycdconnect.nyc/program-public
