Attending MESAC events is a fantastic way to engage and support our community. As a teacher it is your decision if it is appropriate time to take students to games. Please keep in mind the following guidelines if you take your students.

March 28 is a full day of service learning, there will be no regularly scheduled classes. Please be aware that there are no 1-8 period days so you will need to plan around this. Teams will be communicating more information about this day.

Please Melissa or Anthea know this week if you will not be here during conferences this semester. Lalit will be sending the link to parents and it helps to avoid confusion and frustration if your name is removed from the sign-up link.

Please take accurate attendance as it helps us to track and follow up with students who are having issues. If you are having an issue with a student coming to class on time please email the parents and loop in the counselors or one of the administrators.

IMPORTANT: Planning for Professional Learning

To help us in the MS office ensure that the learning continues while you are away for professional learning please submit your leave requests and contact Pooja as soon as possible.

Here’s What We Know:

Google Calendars! You can easily add all of your classes to your Google Calendar. See here for the tutorial!

Makerspace:  The makerspace is open for business! Do you have an idea on how you might use the space? Something you want kids to design? Let me know! We would love to work with you and get you into that space!

Ask your colleagues!

Ask Mark d about Checkology. He is investigating this as a resource for his grade 8 Humanities classes.

Ask Grade 6 Exploratory teachers about their experience in the Makerspace this quarter. Students are building a pyramid of mirrors and sewing costumes and fake indian food made of felt for our Pre-K teachers!

Ask Gagan and Anu about their Ghandi project. They have been working with Linda on their rubrics, project guidelines and using noodletools to cite sources etc.

Ask Courtney about Project Runway. Students are busy sewing and designing costumes for the upcoming Drama production! Stop in!

Ask Thaba about the Yearbook! Her students are busy at work organizing and putting together this year’s yearbook. They use inDesign and would also welcome any PHOTOS you may have taken in your classes!

Professional Development Opportunities: A list of conferences for technology has been added to the office of teaching and learning website..under Other conferences.

After School Activities

After School Activities Season 3

First day of Season 3 will be on Monday, January 21 and you can find the brochure and descriptions in the below links.

Harkness Room - Name and Schedule

The classroom in the MSHS library is known internally as the Reference Room and throughout campus as the Harkness Room. Given that it is now home to the India non-fiction collection (instead of reference books) and it seems unnecessary to name the room after the table, we're looking for a new name. We're hoping for a name that has some connection to India and that will stand the test of time. Please use this link to offer suggestions.

If you have reason to book the room formerly known as the Harkness Room and want to see its availability, you can view the calendar with this link. Send me a message if you want to book it.

Upcoming AMLE Webinars

There are some excellent webinars being offered over the next few months. You can also search through recorded webinars on topics that interest you. Let me know if you need your account login details.

ET Schedule

Semester 2 can be viewed in the MS Private Calendar.

Assembly Request Form

You can use this form to let the MSALT2 students know what teacher announcements you would like to make. Please share this information before Thursday at 3:30pm each week so they have time to plan for the announcements.

Request Form for Tiger Tales/WAG/SWAG

This is where you can submit anything that you would like to be added to the Tiger Tales / WAG / SWAG.

Chaperone Schedule 2018-2019

This link has the final chaperone schedule for SY1819.  We have also sent calendar invites to the chaperones involved in every event for the respective date and time.

Welcome back to our JV MESAC Teams! This week AES hosts MESAC varsity. Be sure to enjoy some of the games that will be on offer. Kim and Jason are back this week to support us on our inclusive journey. There may be times for individuals or teaching teams to sign up, please take them up on the offer.
