Using Zoom on a Smartphone
- Download the Zoom App
- Open the App Store (on iPhones) or Google Play Store (on Android phones).
- In the search bar, type “Zoom” and look for "Zoom Cloud Meetings."
- Tap “Install” or “Get” to download the app.
- Open the Zoom App
- Once installed, find the Zoom app on your home screen.
- Tap on the app to open it.
- Join a Meeting Without Signing Up
- If you only want to join a meeting, you don’t need to sign up.
- Tap on “Join a Meeting” on the app's main screen.
- Enter Meeting ID and Passcode
- After tapping “Join a Meeting,” you’ll see a screen asking for a Meeting ID.
- Enter the Meeting ID sent to you by the meeting organizer.
- If there’s a passcode, enter it when prompted.
- Tap “Join” to enter the meeting.
- Sign In to Zoom (Optional)
- If you want to host meetings or use Zoom regularly, you may want to create an account.
- Tap “Sign Up” if you need an account, or “Sign In” if you already have one.
- Follow the instructions to sign up or sign in.
- Allow Access to Camera and Microphone
- When joining a meeting, Zoom will ask permission to access your camera and microphone.
- Tap “Allow” so people can see and hear you in the meeting.
- Using Zoom Controls
- Mute/Unmute: Tap the microphone icon in the bottom left to mute or unmute yourself.
- Start/Stop Video: Tap the camera icon to turn your video on or off.
- Leave Meeting: When you’re ready to leave, tap “Leave” in the top right corner.
- Practice Before a Real Meeting
- Try joining a test meeting or asking a friend to help you practice.
- Get comfortable with muting, unmuting, and turning your video on and off.
