List submissions must include:

Detachment selection

Unit compositions and costs/total costs

Enhancements

If a unit has multiple options for wargear, and an upgrade or weapon selection is not listed, your models are not equipped with it.

For more details, refer to the core rules for Muster Army.

Illegal Lists:

If your list is found to be illegal after the start of the first round on the FIRST DAY, we will handle the illegal list in two ways. If you are playing with units modeled that do not match the load on the submitted list and could be construed to present you with an unfair advantage, models will be removed by a Judge as needed.

Second, if your list is illegal because of points errors, the units/models that are not correct because of points will not be allowed to be played with, and if you do not do this you will be disqualified.

On the SECOND DAY, if your list is found to be illegal in any way, you will be disqualified from the tournament, there are no exceptions. Upon either instance on either day if your list is played illegally you are not eligible for any prize support.

W.Y.S.I.W.Y.G:

We want to strongly encourage the players to model their miniatures in a way that is fair to their opponent and is in the spirit of the game. We also encourage conversion work, that said if you have a conversion that might be questionable please email us at heeyaw40k@gmail.com with photos of the model. (This includes custom 3-D printed miniatures if it is questionable)

The last day to get approval for models that are converted is 07/05/2023 at 10 PM CST. After this date, they are subject to being pulled without warning if you do not have prior approval. Proxies (models with no conversions) are not allowed without prior approval from event staff (ie. using a grav-cannon for plasma cannon on Devastators)

Mission Length:

Time management is the player’s responsibility. Each game is guaranteed 2 and a half hours of play, with an additional 15 minutes of pre-mission (finding and adjusting table/setup). When the judges call “Dice Down,” no more dice are to be rolled, except at a judge’s discretion.

Players may talk out the rest of the current battle round in order to tally points or call a judge to help settle disputes. If one side has a clear and decisive advantage, the remaining battle rounds may also be scored as long as both players agree or a judge adjudicated it as so.

In the 1st and 3rd missions, players may continue the game to its conclusion if both parties agree. We want to afford our players the greatest opportunity to enjoy their games. Lunch and dinner are the player’s responsibility.

Stream Tables:

Day 1: Tournament staff will choose matches for stream tables primarily based on army quality for the first day. If a player desires not to go on stream, they must immediately let the Tournament staff know on Day 1 so we can find a replacement table to play on stream.

Day 2: Undefeated pairings will play on stream, if a player does not wish to play on stream the player that does not play on stream will then be forfeiting their match for that round and will take a zero-point game.

Chess Clocks:

We strongly encourage the use of chess clocks in order to ensure that both players leave the game feeling like they had a fair amount of time to play. To this end, all undefeated players on day 2 must use a chess clock.

If either player wishes to use a chess clock, then a chess clock must be used and adhered to. It is the player's responsibility both to monitor their own time and to avoid weaponizing the clock against their opponent. If a judge notices behavior that could be construed as weaponizing the clock, we will begin to monitor the match.

Sportsmanship

This GT uses active sportsmanship scoring, where opponents may give their opponents a score from 1-5 after each match, with 5 being the highest, and the opportunity to leave feedback. We do this because we have been in your shoes, where sometimes a game doesn’t feel right, but it may be hard or awkward to track down a judge or we lose the motivation at some point. Or maybe we had a great game and we think our opponent truly deserves Best Sport, but didn’t have the opportunity to communicate that.

Not awarding a score automatically gives the opponent a 3 (Average).

Players earning a 1 might result in the TO having private conversations in a friendly manner to address sportsmanship before it becomes a serious issue. Players earning a sportsmanship score of less than 6 on Day 1 (the player earned at least one 1 and multiple 2s) will receive a Yellow Card for poor sportsmanship.

Judge Interference:

Judges will only interfere in matches on 3 occasions-

  1. Correct an incorrect rule use, such as terrain traits, unit stat lines from Data-Sheets, stratagems, etc. Judges will not be reminding players to use their own rules if they have forgotten to use them. If a player is using the wrong toughness on models, a judge will intervene (after double checking source material). Alternatively, if players have been playing a mission or terrain wrong, but consistently for a significant portion of the round (IE, tracing line of sight through obscuring terrain or having a wrong objective setup through round 3) judges may not intervene.

  1. Provide judgment when requested. Judges can determine a contested line of sight, a charge distance, clarify a rule, etc… This will only be done upon request, as players are expected to be able to come to their own agreements in games and to establish intent when making plays.

  1. Step in to moderate or observe noticeable sportsmanship issues. If other tables are being affected by a dispute, Judges will step in to de-escalate the situation or provide judgment if necessary. Primarily, we expect that the simple presence of a 3rd party will bring players back to a point of mutual respect, without direct involvement.

Ringer:

Our ringer(s) will play like a normal player if required (pairing according to record), but not be eligible for placing or prize support.

Cards:

1st yellow cards are simply warnings for bad misplay, but an official way for our judges to keep track of any repeat offenders. Our primary goal is for everyone to enjoy the tournament and want to return in subsequent seasons. We take it seriously if a player threatens everyone else’s enjoyment. Any of these steps may be skipped pending the severity of the infraction.

2nd Yellows and Red cards will only be handed out with extreme discernment. Having a 1st yellow does not necessitate that any second infraction immediately warrants a 2nd yellow, but it does give our judges a baseline to “judge”.

Awards:

With the exception of best sport, no individual will be eligible to receive more than 1 award. The rank ordering of awards is below.

Best Posse Award:

In order to qualify for the Best Posse (Team) award, at least 3 members must be present. The score for best team will be based on the highest overall placings of three members at the end of the event, pulled from the Top, Middle, and Bottom placing members.

Example 1: Team A has 5 members, who placed 3rd, 10th, 12th, 20th, and 45th. Their team score would be 3+12+45 for a score of 60.

Example 2: Team B has 4 members, placing 1st, 20th, 30th, and 31st. The team score would be 1+(25)+31 for 57 points.

Team B places higher than Team A in these examples, in the event of a tie, the team with the highest placing middle member wins.

The Texan score calculation:

Lone Ranger Award:
