Complete  Language Arts skills for 30 minutes.

Then, AR read for 15 minutes. 

Activity A: On paper, write a paragraph summarizing your snow day.

Activity B: Use Google Docs to write a paragraph summarizing your snow day. Share it with your teacher.

Activity A: Watch the daily news and complete the daily weather report.

Activity B: Record yourself on Flipgrid giving a weather report. The teacher will provide each student his/her Flipgrid code.

Activity A: Visit artforkidshub.com.  Follow the drawing instructions.  Draw a picture of your choice on a sheet of unlined paper.  Color in your finished drawing.

Activity B: Choose one of the step-by-step drawing instructions included in your packet. Complete the drawing on the sheet of unlined paper included. Color your drawing.

Activity C: Paint on the snow…… Mix a packet of kool-aid (or use food coloring) in a spray or squirt bottle with warm water and draw a picture on the snow. Optional: Take a picture of your picture and share with your teacher.

Activity A: Read the following fable  Zebra and Wasp online or read the printed copy.  

Answer the text dependent and discussion questions that go with the text.

Activity B: Record yourself fluently reading the following fable Zebra and Wasp  and email it to your teacher.  

Then, answer the guided questions that go with the text and complete the assessment questions.

Activity A: On paper, write the steps that it takes you to complete a snowy day activity. For example, how to build a snowman, how to make a snow angel, how to make hot chocolate, etc.

Activity B: If there is snow, put it in a cup and measure it with a ruler. How many inches/centimeters of snow is there? Record it on a sheet of paper. Let the snow melt...now measure it again and record how many inches/centimeters of water there is.

Activity A: View a performance of the first 8 minutes of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. Then, read this short biography about the composer and answer the questions.

Activity B: Using 16th notes, eighth note pairs, quarter notes, triplets, or quarter rests, create an 8-beat rhythm.  On a sheet of paper, write notate the rhythm and write the Kodaly counting syllables beneath the notes (ta, ti-ti, ti-ka-ti-ka, etc).  Find and create an instrument at home and perform the rhythm for a parent, friend, or pet.
