Hopkinton Parks & Recreation
Credit / Refund Policy
Summer Programs 2020
The COVID 19 pandemic is a unique circumstance that has forced us to reevaluate our current policy regarding credits and refunds. Our current policy does not address how to best serve our customers in the case of a unique and severe event such as this. Below is an outline of our current policy and our suggested policy for programs affected by COVID 19.
Current Policy:
- Refunds are offered to customers in the event that Parks & Recreation decides to cancel a program, or if a customer suffers an illness or injury that prevents participation. The processing fee associated with all credit card transactions will not be refunded.
- A credit is offered to customers that elect not to participate in a scheduled program due to a scheduling conflict or other circumstances. There is no expiration date to applied credits and it can be applied towards any program offered by Parks and Recreation and can be used for any member of your household. Account credit will not be issued if the cancellation takes place within two weeks of the program start date.
Temporary Policy (voted 4/30/20):
- If a program is suspended due to a recommendation by the CDC or the State and local Dept. of Health, customers can elect to take a refund or a credit. Credits will have no expiration date and can be applied to any program and can be used for any member of your household.
- If a customer has registered for a program and elects not to attend a program due to safety concerns regarding COVID 19, they will be offered the option of a program credit, or a refund if requested prior to 2 weeks before the program's start date. This policy will remain in effect until December 31, 2020.
