Dear Homer Families and Staff,
The Calhoun County Public Health Department notified our district today, January 13, 2021 of a School Associated Case of COVID-19. A "School Associated Case" means a probable or confirmed case of COVID-19 amongst students, teachers, staff members, coaches, volunteers, or any other person who was present on school property, or at a school function under circumstances that may result in the transmission or contraction of COVID-19 during the infectious period.
Persons who have been identified as close contacts to the School Associated Case have been informed directly by the Calhoun County Public Health Department or the school district. If you have not received communication from the health department or school district, you are not impacted. No further action is required and you do not need to contact the school.
As of result of this notice, the district is taking the following actions:
This public notice is being provided in accordance with MDHHS Emergency Order under MCL 333.2253 - Reporting of Confirmed and Probable Cases of COVID-19 at Schools. Since Oct. 12, 2020, the district has been notified of 10 School Associated Cases.
