• Selected by Dr. Richard London with input from other faculty members to participate in the PSRC (Pediatric Strabismus Referral Center) clinical track.  This track included several clinical specialties such as strabismic pediatrics, vision therapy, primary care, low vision, contact lens, ocular disease, and neurology.

• Majority of patient interaction at this site was pre-operative and post-operative refractive surgery care, as well as patient counseling.  Observation included cataract, corneal, refractive and lid surgeries.  Several days were spent shadowing ophthalmologists in their field of expertise.

• An extremely fast-paced, high volume site, working mostly with elderly and end-stage ocular disease patients.  Observation and assistance in several surgeries including blepharoplasties, minor lid procedures, glaucoma surgeries, temporal artery biopsies, pterygium excisions and ectropion and entropion repair.

• A military setting, primary care site.  High volume of healthy patients, challenging the interns to improve efficiency of basic optometric care.  Exposure to a wide range of contact lens patients and challenging soft, toric and rigid gas permeable contact lens fits.
