Before school

  • be in the Multi before 8am and on the blacktop after 8am
  • Walking or sitting when in multi
  • quiet voices in the multi
  • problem solve with others in a kind manner
  • Enter classrooms with teacher permission only
  • clean up after yourself (backpacks, trash, personal belongings)

Eating Areas

  • stay seated when eating
  • no flipping bottles or food containers
  • Always keep your hands, feet and food to yourself

  • take one garbage trip
  • chew with your mouth closed
  • use a calm voice
  • use recycling when possible
  • raise your hand to ask permission to get up
  • greet all people around you and allow anyone to sit next to you
  • Use your manners! Say please and thank you.
  • finish lunch before throwing garbage away
  • scan your area for any trash
  • wait to be excused by an adult
  • follow directions from adults the first time you are asked
  • clean up after yourself

After school

  • walk promptly to the family parking lot/YMCA
  • all students should be in a wait zone at all times
  • when waiting in the parking lot, be seated and keep the aisle way clear
  • show respect for the landscaping
  • show respect for the learning still going on in the the upper grade classrooms by waiting in the wait zone
  • leave the playground vacant
  • return all balls to classrooms
  • primary students older siblings sit on the wall down in the family lot, or by the main office courtyard
  • take home all personal belongings

Parking Lot/Waiting Zone

  • Walk at all times
  • Stay behind yellow lines, yellow posts, and be alert
  • use the crosswalk
  • listen to the crossing guard/teacher on duty
  • speak with an appropriate volume
  • keep hands and feet to self
  • Be standing actively looking for your ride (only k-3 students with 4-6 siblings may sit until 2:55)

Walkway near Kindergarten

  • walk calmly and quietly through
  • gently move the gate
  • stay in the designated walkway
  • use only at dismissal time

  • walking

  • watch the person in front of you, keep lines moving
  • Get adult help when necessary
  • calm and quiet voices
  • respect  gardens and grounds
  • appropriately greet others (smile, say hi)
  • use kind words and actions and be polite
  • Follow adult’s directions the first time

  • pick up garbage and after yourself
  • Be honest and kind
  • set a good example/be a role model
  • Follow school rules and encourage others to do the same                 

Bathroom

  • one person per stall
  • wash your hands
  • Keep water in sink
  • give privacy to others
  • clean up after yourself
  • Put paper towels in garbage
  • turn off water when finished
  • flush the toilet or urinal
  • keep playground equipment outside the bathroom with a friend
  • during recess use the hallway bathroom
  • let an adult know if a bathroom needs attention
  • do your business and promptly return to class/recess

Halls and sidewalks

(hall passes are not necessary)

  • be aware of your surroundings
  • walking feet
  • watch for opening doors
  • keep a 4 S line

  • whisper voices in the hallway
  • acknowledge those you pass and greet them appropriately
  • Respect the learning in classrooms
  • respect learning by keeping
  • stay on concrete or gravel
  • use sidewalks
  • take the quickest route
  • pick up trash that may have been accidently dropped

Assemblies

  • hands and feet to yourself
  • walk in quietly and calmly
  • leave space for aisles
  • all parents should be seated in the back
  • all teachers should be seated on the side
  • look and listen to the speaker/presentation
  • remove all hats and hoods
  • clap to show appreciation
  • limit side conversations

  • quick and quiet transitions
  • use your best singing voice when appropriate
  • sit on bottoms

Turf (artificial grass really)

  • Walking feet only
  • Watch for open windows
  • Stay within eyesight of your supervising adult at all times.
  • Use a whisper voice or very low inside voice
  • No food or drink in this area
  • Act as invisible as possible so you do not distract learning in Rooms 4 - 7
  • Know what you are supposed to be doing at all times and on task
  • Be engaged in your work

Recess Renaissance/

Playground

  • stay within the boundary lines
  • use only equipment/balls provided by the school
  • Be aware of activities around you
  • play cooperatively
  • be a good friend
  • treat playground equipment respectfully
  • include everyone
  • all living creatures need to stay in their environment
  • please acknowledge school volunteers
  • follow school game rules
  • line up when you hear the bell
  • Don’t forget your sweatshirt and lunch box
  • Only come to the office with an office pass
  • follow ball rules on blacktop
  • 4th-6th grades: return recess equipment to ball rack

Garden

  • walk
  • stay on the paths
  • stay where a yard supervisor or other adult can see you
  • be aware of the people around you when using tools
  • pay attention to your task at all times, especially when using tools
  • follow all the directions of any adult
  • put away all tools and materials
  • turn off all water lines before you leave

  • only pick fruit or other food when directed by an adult
  • use quiet voices so people and animals aren’t disturbed
  • leave any structures undisturbed

  • walk into the cafeteria quietly
  • Hot lunchers: line up behind your grade level sign in a single file line
  • always keep your hands, feet, and food to yourself
  • use inside voices
  • greet all people around you and allow anyone to sit next to you
  • let the food helpers assist you
  • when you see Ms. Julie, greet her with a hello and a smile and tell her your name
  • Use your manners! Say please and thank you
  • wait patiently for your turn
  • when it is your turn, make your choices quickly and keep moving through the line
  • listen to Ms. Julie and the lunch helpers for reminders and directions
  • Clean up after yourself
