SSBB Field Checklist

Quick reference for pre- and post-game/practice responsibilities.

Home Team – Field Setup

• Drag and water the field, including baselines and batter’s box.  

• Water before painting the lines.

• Place all bases on the field.  

• Set up the scorekeeper’s table and chairs (located in the field equipment shed).  

• Pick up the scorebook, scoreboard controller, and cord from the snack bar.  

• After the game:

o Dump dugout trash and check the area around the bleachers.  

o Place all trash in the backstop trash can.  

o Sweep out the dugout.  

Away Team – Field Cleanup

• Drag and water the field.

• Sweep the dugout.  

• Put away all equipment (bases, pitching machine, etc.) if it’s the last game of the day.  • After the game:

o Dump dugout trash and check the area around the bleachers.  

o If the backstop trash can is full, take it to the Field Dumpster in the parking lot and replace the  liner with a new trash bag.  

Last Game of the Day  

• Away Team Manager: Remain with the snack bar crew as a security measure while they close up. • Restrooms: Take out trash and lock both male and female bathrooms.  

• Away Team: Lock the field equipment shed, dugouts, and all field gates.  

After Practice

• Put away all equipment used.  

• Clean out dugouts and remove trash.  

• Sweep dugouts.  

• Drag and water the field.

• Lock the field equipment shed, dugouts, and field gates.  

• Take all trash to the dumpster.  

• Ensure the field is locked and all equipment is securely put away.  

• Drags should be stored in the home dugout under the bleachers.

Important Reminders

• Keep the Field Equipment Shed organized and free of trash.

 • Always reset combination locks to 0000 after use.
