August 23: 6th Grade Orientation 9:40am-12:40pm

September 2: Labor Day: NO SCHOOL

September 12: HMMS Open House 6:30-7:30pm

September 19: School Photo Day

Happy August!  I hope that everyone has had an amazing summer break and that you and your children are excited about getting back into the routine of school!  I know that we certainly are!  There has been A LOT happening at HMMS while everyone has been off on break.  We have many new staff members, the school hallways have gotten a face lift with bright new colors, and our lockers--which were sorely in need of some TLC--have been painted and are looking spiffy and ready for new students in a couple of weeks!

While all the changes that have been happening this summer are exciting--I mean, the paint colors are SO vibrant, I smile every time I walk out into the hallway--it is even more exciting to be welcoming kids back soon.  Schools in the summer are strange places--there is a void left when the teachers and kids are on break that seems to wait anxiously to be refilled each August.  We cannot wait to welcome your kids into HMMS on August 27th!

Times and Bus Route Schedules

As we told you in June, the school day will be different at HMMS this year.  School starts at 7:50 this year, and doors will open before school at 7:30am.  Please do not drop off your students prior to 7:30 as we will not be providing supervision until that time.  The school day ends with two dismissal bells--one at 2:48 and one at 2:50 to stagger the dismissal of walkers and car riders and bus students.  There will be no afternoon busroom.  The new bus routes can be found on the district website: hsdvt.com.

6th Grade Orientation

6th grade orientation will be Friday June 23rd from 9:40am-12:40am.  Students will get the chance to meet their classmates and teachers, play some games, get questions answered, and join in a pizza lunch before heading home.  Postcards with more specific information and bus information have been mailed home.  Looking forward to seeing you there!

Welcome to New Staff!

There are many new faces at HMMS and we are excited to welcome into the building!  All of our students will have some new teachers this year.  Help us to welcome them and make them feel at home.

Rock Climbing Club

We are excited to announce that the middle school rock climbing club is back this year!  If your child may be interested in learning more or joining the group, please check out this information.  Email Hannah Prescott at prescotth@hartfordschools.net with any questions.
