Bentley Education Association Scholarship
The Bentley Education Association will award one $500 scholarship for Bentley High School seniors. Eligible students are encouraged to write an essay following the guideline below. Members of the Bentley Education Association will judge the essays and scholarships will be awarded during the Honors Awards Night ceremony. Scholarship payments will be made directly to the college or university that the recipient has enrolled in and the payment will be applied to tuition.
- Guidelines: Your essay must be typed and double-spaced, focused and interesting. Key topics should include the following:
- Educational Objectives and Career Goals (What college are you planning to attend, your major and why you chose it, career path)
- Personal Background (GPA, What’s important to you, Life experiences, Volunteer work, hobbies, extra curricular activities, what makes you exceptional)
- Return your completed essay to Mrs. Richardson by Friday, May 14th at Noon!
Rotary Club of Greater Flint Sunrise
- Scholarship applicants must be graduating high school seniors. In 2021, preference will be given to students who are the first member in a family to attend a college, university, or trade school.
- Applicants must provide a transcript showing fall semester senior year grades and must have a 2.5 GPA or higher.
- Applicants must provide a copy of their FAFSA (or describe financial need in an essay).
- Applicants must provide at least one reference letter.
- Applicants must provide a one page essay demonstrating school/community leadership.
- Applicants must attend a college, university, or trade school located within the state of Michigan.

AAA MICHIGAN'S 2021 SCHOOL SAFETY PATROL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
$2500
- Scholarships of $2,500 will be awarded to two graduating seniors attending a Michigan public, private or charter high school.
- Students must show proof of AAA Michigan School Safety Patrol participation in elementary or middle school, good academic standing and a strong record of involvement in the community and/or extra-curricular activities. A personal letter of introduction must be included describing community and extra-curricular activities and what being a Safety Patroller meant to them.

The Detroit Section of the Society of Women Engineers
$1000
- The Detroit Section of the Society of Women Engineers annually recognizes local students who have shown exemplary abilities in areas such as leadership, academics, and community activities.
- Now in its second year, SWE-Detroit has endowed the Society’s first scholarship specifically for students starting their engineering program at a community college. The Josie Rewald Memorial Community College Scholarship is available for incoming or current students. This program will distribute two awards of $1000 each in 2020.
2021 Genesee Opportunity Stipend
- Application is now available for the class of 2021.
- High school graduates who lived in and attended high school in Genesee County are eligible to receive the Genesee Opportunity stipend.
- The stipend can be used toward costs to attend approved colleges and training institutions.

Sophia Waldbauer Scholarship
$4000 or $2000/2 awards
To be awarded to a graduating senior of Bentley High School who is:
- a member of any school athletic team during any one year in Bentley High School
- be accepted to a college, university or technical school
- have a 2.66 cumulative GPA or higher
- exhibit good citizenship and above average sportsmanship which will be demonstrated through one or more letters of recommendation provided by the applicant
- demonstrate financial need

WiseGeek Women in STEM Scholarship
$500
To be awarded to a graduating female from Bentley High School who is:
- Interested in a career in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math).

John F. and Edith L. Wilsterman Scholarship
Up to $20,000
To be awarded to Genesee County High School Graduates who:
- Who have great potential but may have struggled in high school due to extenuating circumstances such as work, family issues, setbacks or even “late blooming”.
- Extra-curricular and community service activities are also heavily considered, all with a focus on the student's character, financial need, and potential.

To be awarded to high school seniors in Genesee County who are pursuing post-secondary study/training at a college or technical school in
- auto-body repair/painting, automotive design, auto mechanics, electrical/manufacturing/mechanical engineering, robotics, sales and marketing, software development for automotive applications, welding, or STEM related programs.
- 200-500 Word Essay is required
- Include at least one letter of Recommendation.

To be awarded to students who have:
- Experienced personal challenges that may have not allowed them to perform well academically.
- Must be planning to attend a 2- year or 4-year accredited college in the US.

- Attach a photograph (headshot) to the application. (Failure to send a photo will disqualify the application.)
- Apply through a Local Chapter Scholarship Chairperson in accordance with prescribed deadlines.
