Q: I haven’t received a confirmation from ZSC yet regarding my registration. Does that mean I’m not registered?
A: Until after the third and final deadline, May 27, we ask that you consider the follow-up email you receive from EventBrite as confirmation of all of your ZSC-related purchases. Once the third deadline passes and all registration numbers have been tallied, ZSC will send out a separate and comprehensive email to all who registered with instructions on what to do next. If you have any concerns about your registration, please email us at email@example.com at any time and we will be happy to assist you.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Cancellation Fees and refund policy for full package and game only:
- Prior to April 2, a 20% cancellation fee will apply.
- After April 2, a 50% cancellation fee will apply.
- After April 30, a 70% cancellation fee will apply.
- After June 3, there will be NO refunds.
There will be NO refunds for any of the social event tickets.
Q: Does the Full Package include meals?
A: Only dinner will be included for arrival night on July 3rd. Unfortunately, the CSU Dominguez Hills campus does not offer any dormitory/meal programs (i.e., no cafeterias) for the remainder of the days due to the dorms having apartment style kitchens. However, those staying at the dorms would not have to drive off campus to purchase food. The campus student union (with options like Subway, Panda Express, Taco Bell, etc.) is located next to the gym and will be open everyday except for 7/4. In addition to the student union food options, there will in-gym concession stands as well as on-site grilled hamburgers/veggie burgers/hot dogs available for purchase daily, even on 7/4. For more information on the campus meal options, please see here: https://www.csudh.edu/foundation/commercial-services/dining/.
Q: Why are the games being held on July 3-8 instead of June 30th-July 4th?
A: With the 4th of July holiday falling in the middle of the week on a Wednesday this year, it made the scheduling of the Z Games event a much harder task. With the holiday not occurring directly before or after the weekend, it made it much more difficult to hold the events during a convenient stretch of time where people would not have to take too much time off. Furthermore, all nearby campuses had no availability for dates preceding the 4th of July holiday, therefore making July 3-8 our only option. We hope that everyone can understand that some situations are out of our control and that we do our best to accommodate everyone as much as possible.
Q: Where will I be able to pick up my tickets for the social events?
A: Tickets for the social events will be sent directly to the email provided during your registration process via EventBrite. All tickets issued will have proper labeling and a barcode that will be scanned upon entry to the appropriate event. Attendees must insure to not misplace the emailed tickets as new ones will not be issued. NO EXCEPTIONS. Attendees may choose to either print the tickets or have them scanned directly on their electronic devices.
Q: Are there any age restrictions for the social events?
A: Galaxy Game on July 4th: All ages are welcome! Children under two years of age will be admitted without a ticket and will be required to remain seated in the lap of their guardian. If the child has reached their second birthday, they must have a ticket to enter.
Disco Night on July 5th: All ages are welcome, though anyone under the age of 15 will require to be accompanied by an adult guardian (18+). All persons must have a ticket to enter the event.
Banquet on July 7th: Only those aged 15 and above are recommended for this event.
Q: You mention the event is from July 3-8, but when do the actual games begin?
A: The actual games begin on the morning of July 4, following an opening ceremony which will take place at 8am. July 3rd is reserved for check-in only.
Q: I’m trying to book my flights, when and where is the best time/airport I should arrange to fly to?
A: We strongly suggest booking your flights to arrive mid-late afternoon on July 3rd. Transportation from the airport will be provided ONLY for full package registrants during the hours of 3pm-8pm on July 3rd from LAX ONLY. If requesting airport transportation, please email ZSC at firstname.lastname@example.org using the subject line “Z-Olympics Airport Transportation Request” and include your flight information and people traveling with you. Please let us know of your flight information NO LATER than June 10th, as we will not be able to accommodate any individuals after that deadline. Once we have coordinated a ride pick-up, we will send you a confirmation email. Return flights should be arranged for the evening of July 8th in order to ensure you don’t miss the closing ceremony, which should end around 5pm. Transportation back to LAX on the day of the closing ceremony will not be provided and will be the responsibility of the individual.
Q: What will the “dorms” be like? How many people to one room? And who will be my roommates?
A: The option of naming your preferred roommate will be given during the registration process. After the third and final registration deadline, an email will be sent out to all full package registrants to either confirm your roommate choice or ask for roommate preference for assignment if not already chosen. A family of four will be staying in a two bedroom apartment style (no kitchen and shared bathroom). Others will be sharing a room with one person (two per room). Floors will be uni-sex and not co-ed with the exception of the family dorms.
Q: I know it says 8 is the maximum number of players on my basketball team, but what if my team has 9?
A: Our rules and guidelines regarding all of our sporting events are very strict. The maximum number of players stated for each team sport is very clear and will not be changed under any circumstances. Please ensure your team is registered correctly prior to the start of the games. If you need to report changes to your team after having registered, please email us at email@example.com at any time and we will be happy to make those changes for you.
