To Whom It May Concern,
Volunteering is a wonderful way to give back to the community while gaining a fresh perspective on life. Seven years ago, we launched a group at Arcadia High School called Arcadia Cares Day. Although our initiative was paused due to the 2020 shutdown, we successfully revived it two years ago. Now, we are excited to continue this tradition for a third consecutive year!
Our mission is to provide high school and middle school students with an opportunity to give back through a dedicated volunteer day. To make this possible, we are seeking local businesses and community members who are willing to host student volunteers for approximately three to four hours.
Volunteer tasks may include, but are not limited to:
This year's Arcadia Cares Day is scheduled for Friday, May 16, 2025. Transportation will begin at 8:15 AM, with students arriving at their assigned sites between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM. In case of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled for Monday, May 19, 2025.
We anticipate approximately 250 students, who will be assigned to various volunteer activities based on task difficulty. Each group will be accompanied by a teacher or chaperone serving as a volunteer leader.
Enclosed with this letter is our volunteer application, which helps us coordinate volunteer placements, approve tasks, and determine if any financial assistance is required. If you are interested in participating, please complete and return the application by April 11th, 2025. The letter may be mailed to Arcadia Local Schools (Attn: Arcadia Cares Day) or emailed to connert@arcadiaschools.org.
Once applications are reviewed and approved, we will contact you with further details regarding the volunteer assignments and logistics.
Thank you for your support in making this initiative a success for the fourth year! Your involvement makes a meaningful difference in our students' lives and our community.
