About Harvest Tide:  We are a 60 acre, MOFGA certified organic, vegetable farm that grows about 15 acres of vegetables for our CSA, farmstand, and wholesale customers.  We are in our fifth year of production and are growing fast.  

Description:  The Greenhouse Manager Position is a flexible-schedule position that entails management and oversight of the seedling greenhouse for the farm’s transplanting.  Manager will be responsible for all seeding, watering, potting up, and hardening off of seedlings prior to transplant according to greenhouse schedule and weekly priorities. The greenhouse manager will be responsible for sanitation and organization in the greenhouse.  Job to include record keeping, greenhouse maintenance, and close observation of plant health and thus requires close attention to detail and previous experience working in commercial greenhouses either on farm or in a garden center.  Applicants can expect to have weekly meeting with farm owners to set priorities and schedule, and will be expected to complete activities on time with minimal direct supervision.  This job requires a self-starter with good communication skills.

This is a good opportunity for someone who is working on starting their own farm, someone who has another part-time job, or someone interested in working “parent’s” hours.

Schedule:

Schedule contains some flexibility.  At least 4 days per week, 25 hours per week, with more possible.  Though exact hours are flexible, manager is expected to be on farm to water/vent greenhouse at appropriate times, and is expected to complete greenhouse tasks each week.  An example schedule would be Tuesday-Friday 9am to 3:30pm.  Position begins as early as mid-March and maintains its greenhouse schedule and duties until August.  After August employee will reduce greenhouse work (as much is done for the season) and work in other roles on the farm.

Job Requirements:

Pay: $15.00/hr or more with the right experience.  

Benefits: All full-time employees receive 4 paid days.  We encourage you to save these for sick days as employees who arrive sick to work will not be permitted to work.  Unpaid sick days also available. Vegetable seconds are included for free with pay.  Employees also get lots of organic vegetables from the farm, and can buy purchased in items at a discount.
