Worship - Ushers

ROLE CATEGORY:  Welcome Team

BRIEF OVERVIEW:  The usher ministry helps to make the weekly worship services run smoothly. It helps with traffic flow, greeting, attendance, communion, and other worship related items. It is a very low effort and low commitment ministry.

DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Elders

LENGTH OF SERVICE: Team Leader: Spends maybe an hour or two every few months to figure out the schedule and maybe an hour or so emailing people to see how things are going.  Team Members: About 1.5 hours every 3 weeks.

PREREQUISITES:  Some minor training that usually takes about 20 minutes to go over and the willingness to serve about once every 3 weeks and on special occasions.

GIFTS / TALENTS HELPFUL FOR THIS ROLE:  No special gifts or talents are needed. Just the willingness to come to church and assist people.

ROLE SPECIFIC DETAILS:  

• Team Leader:  Role is mainly to create the schedule for the usher teams and to help fill vacancies. If necessary train new ushers.
• Team Members:  Usher teams usually have a single person who help manage it during the worship service but the tasks aren't that difficult that almost all the ushers know what needs to be done.
