Terms and Conditions - Dance School

General Business and Course Conditions of West Coast Swing Zurich

These terms and conditions apply to all courses offered by West Coast Swing Zurich dance school. Valid from September 10th, 2021.

1. Registration / Transferability

Course registration via Internet, telephone and in direct agreement with a West Coast Swing employee is binding. The attendance of a course is only for the registered participant and cannot be transferred. The duration of the course is shown in the course program.

2. Confirmation of participation

After registration using the online form on the website, you will receive an automated e-mail with the registration confirmation. However, participation in the course can only be confirmed when the following conditions are met:

• A dance partner can be guaranteed (as described in the section "Single application") and
• There is enough space on the course.

If these requirements are met, you will receive a participation confirmation. With the receipt of the participation confirmation, participation is binding and consequently the course fee is due.

3. Terms of payment

The course fees (according to the course program) are payable at the start of the course by the latest. Payment options include on-site cash or bank transfer in advance to the West Coast Swing Zurich account of the Zürcher Kantonalbank. The account details are included in the participation confirmation email.

4. Cancellations / Rebooking

Cancelling or rebooking a course results in administrative costs. Depending on the time of the cancelation or rebooking, we can cancel the course fee in whole or in part. Please note the following regulations:

5. Course duration

A lesson lasts 55 minutes. One module is 4x 55 minutes long. To complete a module at least 3 out of 4 lessons must be completed. To complete a level all modules have to be completed. It is possible to catch up on missed lessons at another time (it must be the same lesson) within 6 months or in private lessons with a teacher of the dance school West Coast Swing Zurich.

6. Missed Lessons

Unexcused missed Lessons cannot be refunded.

If the absenteeism is reported to the administration at least 24 hours in advance by email (admin@wcszh.ch), the missed lesson can be repeated, if there is another course running parallel. Cash refunds will not be issued.

Accident / illness / Quarantine

If a lesson is missed due to illness, accident or quarantine the missed lesson can be repeated, if there is another course running parallel, upon presentation of a medical certificate or valid quarantine order. Cash refunds will not be issued.

7. Course cancellation

If there are not enough registrations for a course, West Coast Swing Zürich reserves the right to postpone or cancel the course. For organizational reasons, this can also be done at short notice. The course fee will be refunded or credited to the next course.

8. Single registration

West Coast Swing Zürich makes every effort to find a suitable dance partner for single registrations, but cannot guarantee finding one. Single registrations will only be confirmed once a suitable dance partner has been found.

9. Couples registration

If you have a dance partner, please indicate his/her name in the comment field when registering. Please note, the partner must also complete registration form themselves within 48 hours. A name in the comment field is not considered a valid registration for the partner. Couples registering for a course receive preferential treatment in filling course spaces.

9. Partner change / rotation

At our dance school, we rotate the students in the classes, meaning the partner is changed every few minutes and the exercises are then carried out with the new partner. This applies to all course participants, even if you have registered as a couple.

10. Exclusion

West Coast Swing Zürich reserves the right to exclude a student from a course without reason. In the case of course exclusion, the outstanding course fee for the remaining lessons will be refunded.

11. Private lessons

The duration and cost of a private lesson may vary according to the instructor and will be discussed with them personally. All email addresses of the teachers can be found on the website.

12. Filming and photographing during the courses

Filming and photographing is strictly prohibited for students during the classes.

For the purpose of personal use, a specific figure or the summary of the material may be recorded, with the explicit consent of the teacher to be filmed. These recordings are explicitly only for personal practicing between lessons. Furthermore, the permission is always granted for just that one specific figure or summary and never applies to the whole lesson. Each additional recording requires new permission to be obtained.

Filmed material may not be published. Neither on YouTube, other public platforms such as Facebook and Instagram or in any way publicized.

West Coast Swing Zürich reserves the right to photograph and/or film courses for promotional purposes and places these on public platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, or similar. Students who do not wish for their image to be used are requested to inform the staff before the beginning of the course.

13. Students

Students (school, university, apprenticeship) with a valid Student ID card will receive a discount. These discounts can be found on the website. Valid Student ID must be presented at the first lesson of the course. Discounts cannot be awarded retroactively.

14. Course repetition

A 50% discount on the advertised course price is granted to participants who are repeating the same course.

15. Insurance / Liability

West Coast Swing Zurich assumes no liability for theft, loss of property, accident or other damage. All insurances are the responsibility of the participant.

16. Privacy

By signing up, you agree that West Coast Swing Zürich may use your data for other purposes (advertising, information about new offers, mailing lists, etc.). Your data will not be shared with third parties.

17. Schedule, teaching staff and price changes

West Coast Swing Zürich reserves the right to change the Schedule, teaching staff and course prices, as well as the terms and conditions.

18. Covid-19 Regulations

West Coast Swing Zürich reserves the right, to exclude students without a valid Covid-19 certificate and ID. Cash refunds will not be issued.

19. Jurisdiction / Applicable Law

The place of jurisdiction for any disputes is Zurich, Switzerland. This contract and any dispute arising therefrom are subject to Swiss law.
