Tuesday Hikes
March 10th
We will hike the 3 mile “Red Loop”. This hike includes the 1.5 mile Hemlock Trail, a 0.5 mile portion of the Good Sam Trail, and the 1.0 mile Rotherham Trail. Depending on the number of hikers, our guide will decide which trailhead we will start from. So be sure to check in at “The Square”.
Tom Buckley is our guide for all the Tuesday Hikes.
We meet in the small pavilion on "The Square" in Fairfield Glade at 105 Stonehenge Drive, close to the junction with Peavine Road, by the traffic light.
(GPS Coordinates 36.007099, -84.886867)
Please arrive by 8:50am. Our guide will discuss the highlights of the hike, answer any questions, and provide driving directions to the trailhead. Promptly, at 9:00am, we will depart to the chosen trailhead.
Visitors and new hikers are always welcome to join us.
Friendly dogs are also welcome to join us, but please keep them on a leash for the entire hike.
Weather permitting, we hike all year round.

Please, always check in with our guide at “The Square” before going to the trailhead, because plans may change at the last minute due to weather or trail conditions. Also, sometimes our guide may change where we will park if there are too many cars for some of the smaller trailhead parking areas.
Hiking has risks, and safety is always our highest priority on every outing. The leader/guide and the hiking group assume no collective or individual liability for any mishaps. Participation in this hike is at your own risk.
Participants should be in good physical condition. Hiking on natural woods trails with elevation changes does not compare with walking on paved and level surfaces. Hiking boots are strongly recommended. Sturdy sneakers are also OK, but no flip flops! Always carry plenty of water; especially if it is a hot day. Spray yourself with insect repellent to keep away nasty bugs, ticks, chiggers, etc. Oh, and don’t forget your favorite hiking stick.
If you feel sick, such as having a fever, chills, cough, etc., please refrain from joining us on this hike. Get healthy, and we hope to see you when you feel better.
