McAuliffe Parent Teacher Connection

Regular Meeting

The Regular Meeting of the McAuliffe Parent Teacher Connection was held on September 13, 2023 at 6:30 pm in the Media Center.

The following members were present: Sara Wittgenstein, Jessica DeGrotte, Ashley Bettis, Kim Parker, Rhonda Hohman, Kelsey Thoresen, Lacey Boston, Erin Radford, Christa Hamann, Megan Forrest, Luke Forrest, Christi Johnson and Matt Esterby

A motion was made by Christa Hamann to approve the minutes of the May 2023 Regular Meeting and Summer 2023 Minutes. Ayes all, nays none, motion carried.

The following votes took place:

Christa Hamann motioned to approve the Standing Rules amended to include meeting the second Wednesday and add Vice President. Jessica DeGrote 2nd the motion.  All aye, no nays.  Motion approved.

Discussion included:  -Treasurer’s Report & Budget Review

-Principal’s Report - Raider-Set-Go Day, PD Day, move next PTC meeting to 10/10 @ Kennedy to combine with a speaker.

-Curriculum Meeting

-Facebook Page - co-chaired by Sara W and Christa H

-Website - Add FAQ - managed  by Sara W

-Box Tops Promotion - co-chaired by Sara W and Christa H

-Exploradome Sept 25/26

-Book Fairs - Good start to volunteers - Co-chaired by Kim P and Christi J

-Teacher Meal - Fall Conference, review @ Partnership Meeting 9/14

-Movie Nights - 1st movie night to be chaired by Lacey B.  Funds used for field trips.

-Readathon (Apex vs MyBooster vs. FundHub)

-Field Trips (Bussing) - to be discussed @ Partnership Meeting 9/14

-4th grade T-shirts/Yearbook - to be discussed @ Partnership Meeting 9/14

-Carnival - Co-chaired by Jessica D. and Ashley B.

-Teacher Appreciation - Co-chaired by Jessica and Ashley B.

Meeting adjourned at 7:40 pm.

Next Meetings:  10/11 (exploring a reschedule to 10/10), 11/8, 12/13, 1/10, 2/7, 3/6, 4/10, ⅝

The following votes took place via text message chain after the regular meeting:

9/14/2023 Rhonda Hohman motioned to spend $499 up front for Fund Hub. Kim Parker 2nd the motion.  All aye, no nays.  Motion approved.

10/6/2023 Kim Parker motioned to purchase staff lounge soda/drinks in the amount of $120.34.  Jessica DeGrotte 2nd the motion.  All aye, no nays.  Motion approved.

10/10/2023 Kim Parker motioned to withdraw $300 for Book Fair Startup. Jessica DeGrotte 2nd the motion.  All aye, no nays.  Motion approved.
