Tasks:

  1. Read through P10-11 of the booklet, and P12-13 of the textbook.

  1. Use this information to answer the Islamic Medicine quiz in the booklet P12.

  1. Read and complete P13-14 which introduces the main factors which you will need to consider throughout the medicine topic, which have affected the development of medicine. Use the information from your quiz and textbook and try to write down examples of when science, communication, war, key individuals etc were involved in Islamic medicine.

Eg. The Caliph’s library would count as helping communication of medical knowledge, so goes in that part of the table.

  1. Read through the powerpoint presentation on Islamic medicine on the VLE.  Watch the clip on Task 2.  (NB. You do not need to complete all tasks, although they may provide useful revision!)

  1. Check your examples of the role of each factor against the answers on the power point, and add more evidence to your table in P13-14.
