Session I:

Crayon & String Drawing:

Students will learn the “How it’s made” process of crayons and where they come from, they will then use string and crayons to create an abstract line drawing, we will learn about artists that frequently use this tactic

MATERIALS:

Paper

A piece of yarn, ribbon, or string, crayons

Session II:

FRANKENCRAYON

Using the sun’s natural heat and light, and using metal, broken crayon pieces we will conduct a fun and environmentally friendly project and learn the science of melting

MATERIALS:

Broken crayon pieces

Metal cupcake tin or other mold of choice (might get waxy!!)

Cupcake liners, waxp paper, or foil
