NOTE: There are three pages to this document. Make sure you have all three pages. All dates are subject to change.

Senior Birth Certificates – ASAP – Seniors are required to turn in a COPY of their birth certificate in order for the diplomas to be ordered. These are kept separate from the cumulative folders (which may or may not have a copy) and are used to verify that each student is given a diploma under their legal name. THIS IS MANDATORY. If you have not already turned in a copy, do so immediately! The deadline is: Friday, September 28, 2018. You must individually (or your parents may call or email) Shanna Shoemaker if you cannot meet this deadline.

Friday, October 5, 2018- Senior Officer Applications are due. See Mrs. Shoemaker to pick up an application beginning Wednesday, September 12.

Tuesday, September 11, 2018 – Senior Retake Pictures – If you did not have senior pictures taken over the summer and you would like a chance to take some, you must be here first period. This is the only retake time. See Mrs. Shoemaker for package information. This is NOT the cap & gown pictures (they will be taken in February).

Wednesday, October 24, 2018 – SENIOR DAY! A PRESENTATION from Herff Jones will be given to detail information about cap & gowns and other senior items. We will also complete the  voting for senior class officers and voting on the color of your cap & gown unit. Even if you do not have a first period scheduled, ALL seniors need to be present beginning 7:30 to participate in the activities.

Tuesday, October 30, 2018 -  Cap & Gown Ordering Day – During all lunches representatives from Graduate Services East (Herff Jones) will be in the cafeteria to collect payment for your cap/gown and other senior items. Deposits will be $80. If you are ONLY ordering the cap & gown unit, the total cost will be $80.

February 22, 2019 – Senior Cap and Gown Pictures. Seniors MUST be present first period to have their pictures taken. Since seniors will not have their own cap/gown by this date, the photographer and SWE will provide the necessary gowns and props. Females need to wear a top that will not show about the gown. Males need to wear a white dress shirt and dark tie. If you need any of these items, see Mrs. Shoemaker prior to the date for borrowing purposes. Lifetouch will charge a $10 sitting fee.

SPRING 2019 – Cap & Gown Orders Returned – The date for delivery of the cap/gown units will not be set until the spring. This date is usually in late April. All balances for Herff Jones orders must be paid before students can receive their cap/gown.

Thursday, May 23, 2019 - SENIOR MANDATORY PRACTICE/RECOGNITION NIGHT – Seniors must be present by 6:00pm in their cap/gown and correct graduation attire. Seniors will receive all class awards, scholarship announcements, and honors during this recognition night. This will serve as a formal practice. This is a MANDATORY PRACTICE for all seniors who are participating in the graduation exercises. Any requests for an exemption (military obligations) must be requested in writing to the principal by May 1, 2019. Work obligations are not grounds for exceptions. ALL seniors MUST attend, including EARLY GRADUATES who wish to participate in final graduation exercises.

Friday, May 24, 2019 -Senior Picnic- Seniors are treated to their Senior Picnic during the time of the underclass awards ceremony. They will begin in Homeroom with final transcript information at 7:40 am and will later have their picnic.

Friday, May 24, 2019- ALL DEBTS must be paid in order to graduate. Note: This is the DEADLINE, not the beginning date to pay.

June (TBD) – BACCALAUREATE – Seniors and their families/friends are welcome to the baccalaureate service. Seniors will wear their caps/gowns, sit as a group, and will be honored with refreshments afterwards. Baccalaureate is optional. No tickets are needed.

Thursday, JUNE 6, 2019 – 8:00 am-12:00 MANDATORY GRADUATION PRACTICE

You must be in attendance the ENTIRE practice in order to participate in the graduation exercises. There are NO exceptions. If you are an officer or student participating “on stage” you must stay until 2:00pm. Wear casual clothes for practice. Also remember that ALL DEBTS must be paid by May 24th in order to practice. You will be pulled from practice if you owe a debt, and then you will not walk!

FRIDAY, JUNE 7, 2019- 6:00PM – GRADUATION!! (ECPS BOE has the authority to change this date, and if so, graduation practice may change accordingly)

Seniors must be in the theater by 5:00pm. Dressed in the correct graduation attire. Be ON TIME, PROPERLY DRESSED and properly behaved. Participation in graduation exercises is a privilege that can be revoked at any time.

In order to participate in graduation exercises, students must meet the following requirements:

  1. Be academically and discipline-wise eligible, as determined by the guidance/administrative staff
  2. Have attended the TWO mandatory practices (see dates and times above)
  3. Be on time and be in correct graduation attire*, including but not limited to the cap/gown unit ordered through the official school vendor.
  4. Have all debts paid by the mandatory deadline.

*PROPER GRADUATION DRESS ATTIRE

The following attire will be required, based on the color chosen.

FEMALES:

IF LIGHT BLUE:  Females will wear a solid white or a solid black dress/skirt that does not show above or below the gown and BLACK dress shoes, regardless of the color of the dress.  These may be flats or heels that are NO higher than 3.0 inches.  No straps that go up the ankle or leg, no flip flops, bling, gold or silver, or wedges above 3.0 inches.

IF DARK BLUE:  Females will wear any color dress/skirt that does not show above or below the gown and BLACK dress shoes, regardless of the color of the dress.  These may be flats or heels that are NO higher than 3.0 inches.  No straps that go up the ankle or leg, no flip flops, bling, gold or silver, or wedges above 3.0 inches.

MALES:

Regardless of the gown color, males will wear khaki DRESS pants, white dress shirt, dark neck tie (no bow ties), and BLACK dress shoes.  Sperrys, Timberlands, Toms, Sanuks, boots, and flip flops are NOT dress shoes.

ANY STUDENT, male or female, that does not wear the appropriate shoes will be issued ROTC military shoes that they must wear for the event.
