Pushing Due Dates on Bills for CA

UTILITY BILLS. Here's an update on what I've found out from my utility companies.

The phone/hold times weren't bad. I accomplished all of this in aprox. 2 hours of phone calls.

1) SoCal Gas - automated message on the phone line immediately asks if you need an extension on your due date. Mine was pushed back until 4/23 (No other option, not sure how they determine your extension date)

2) AT+T - Will waive all late fees, and push your due date back for 2 months. You will still incrue charges, so make partial payments if you can, but they have pledged that starting 3/15 no customers phone service will be interrupted.

3) Spectrum Cable/Internet -- Will waive all late fees and are adding 30 day extension to their existing 30 day extension policy. They also have an option to PAUSE your service, if your account is current - but the PAUSE - must be enacted for 60 days, or you will incur additional fees.

4) Burbank Water and Power - Unfortunately has no extension system set up yet, beyond their normal 45 day policy.

She did tell me their are other resources in Burbank - and gave me the info for Burbank Temporary Aid Center at 818-848-2822 and Home Energy System at (800) 906-4651 (this number varies based on your zipcode, I'm in 91501)

From Burbank Resident Leah Cevoli

LA Restaurant Employees:

From Mozza:

Starting on March 19, in partnership with Maker’s Mark we will turn 6610 Melrose Ave into a relief center for any restaurant worker who has been laid off or has had a significant reduction in hours and/ or pay. We are offering help for those in dire need of food and supplies. Each night, we will pack hundreds of to-go dinners that people can come to pick up and take home. Dinners are offered on a first come first serve basis. Limit 2 to a person unless there is an emergency situation. We will limit how much any one person can take of these supplies, but they will be handed out free to those in need. We will continue to offer this program throughout the quarantine period or until we can no longer financially support the program.

We will also have supplies on hand for those in need: Diapers, wipes, baby food, non-perishable canned foods and cereals, toilet paper, and Tylenol.

If you would like to donate supplies please email Kate Green

or you may also donate directly to the fund here

Details of the program are below:

- Dinner pick up address: 6610 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90038

- This program will be offered 7 nights a week until otherwise notified.

- Pick up time is 5:30 pm to 8:30pm nightly.

- There is ample free parking.

- Everyone must show proper ID and have some identifying paperwork to prove recent employment at a restaurant.

- We ask everyone to be patient should there be long lines. We ask that you practice social distancing and stay 6 ft. from each other.

- We will be offering 300 dinners a night, first come first serve.
