About

Life before Thomas Jefferson High School:

I have been teaching since 1996! I have taught everywhere from a tiny music academy, to a private Montessori in Parker, to an elementary school in Cherry Creek, to a middle school in Littleton, to a residential treatment center for at-risk youth, to a high school in Aurora before landing back home in DPS! As a graduate from Abraham Lincoln High School, I felt I needed to teach for DPS, but I had to explore all that was out there before returning back to the district that made me a success in life! I have been at TJ since 2009/2010 and have loved every minute!

I am the Shakespeare Festival coordinator, run a lunch club (where we hang out and watch movies at lunch or play board games or Scene It), ran Harry Potter Club (previously during lunch on fridays, can return there if needed), ran an after school movie club (COVID eliminated this one) and a Guitar club. I have also taken students to Europe  several times over the summers!   I am part of the ISA Team, helping out MLL(Multi Language Learners)  students as well as a member of the Gifted and Talented Site Team.

For fun, I enjoy anything active, nerdy or crafty! Diversity of fun is key!
