Been reading discussions about balance; we have an update coming next month which includes some cool events, and that is when any balance changes would happen. We'll be sure to announce any changes as the patch gets closer.

Mage vs Shaman Arena
With 15 cards left I've whittled the Shaman down to 10 life. I begin to lose board control due to back to back volcanoes, but know I have an out in the one pyroblast in my deck. My hand is completely empty and I'm top decking the rest of the game.
Fast forward to 8 cards left and still no pyroblast. My opponent plays Marin the Fox and proceeds to kill the chest the following turn.
"Please don't be the crown, please don't be the crown"....two Onyxia hit the board. I'm at 19 life, his board has 23 damage...I need to draw pyro THIS TURN.
One out of 7 is decent odds, I've got this. The card flips over to be Tomb Lurker. YOLO, I throw Tomb Lurker onto the board and a Masters Chest pops into my hand.
It may not say it on the card text...but Masters Chest has taunt. I play it onto the board and naturally my opponent passes up lethal to loot the treasure. Another Crown, Two Illidans are added to the board. He knocks me to 4 life and passes.
HAAAAAALELUJAAAAA! I draw my pyro and grin as I burn his face to a crisp. 6-0 baby! Let's go!

First, I am a new player and I am loving the podcast. I struggled in my first few weeks, but I am actually getting a few wins now. I have noticed that one of my weaknesses has been deck building. I have checked a few sites to get some ideas, but it seems that I am always missing a lot of cards and, while I don't mind paying a little, I certainly won't be spending big dollars. My questions is, what do you recommend for an up-and-coming player in regards to building a competitive deck? For example, I would love to play a Zoo Warlock or something similar. I have about half of the cards needed. What is your process when filling out the deck?

Well met, crotchety capons.
I recently got back into Hearthstone soon after Frozen Throne launched and have been enjoying the game once again. My question has to do with the scheduled rotations for older expansions, in this case Whispers of the Old Gods and Gadgetzan. To me, it feels like Gadgetzan didn’t have too long a life in standard since it released late in 2016.
My question is: what benefits or downsides do you see with rotations happening on a per-expansion basis? For example: Old Gods rotates with the release of the first expansion of 2018 and Gadgetzan leaves once the second is released. This would give those late-in-the-year expansions a little longer lifecycle and allow new or returning players to experience some of the standout decks. I keep hearing about Razakus Priest and would like to try it but at this point it doesn’t seem worth my while to craft the necessary cards or buy packs.
Granted, this is mostly my fault having taken a break from the game for so long but I wondered what your thoughts are on this.

Dear Guys and Gallus domesticus,
Having recently opened a pack which revealed my very first golden Angry Chicken, I thought I would celebrate the occasion by contacting you to relate an idea regarding the tracking of wins per hero.
We (my wife and I) found it a nice improvement when the folks at Hearthstone showed us the number of wins per hero beyond 500 we have obtained, but I think it would be nice if there was a way to display that in battle mode. Currently, there is no way to tell if that golden hero has been responsible for 500 successful conquests or 2,500.
I would offer a suggestion to Team 5 that they consider putting a glowing gem in the frame of the golden hero power that indicates having surpassed a certain level of wins. This would be a nice little bit of bling that may indicate the experience level of a foe that one is about to engage.
I find I have little incentive at this time to use my golden heroes while other heroes have yet to achieve their golden status. If I can send my goldens into battle to strive for another gemstone, I would be more inclined to do so. What do you think?
