We have had an incredible year of helping patients and their families with meals, housing, transportation, visits, medical equipment and other services they have needed or required. We’ve spent time incorporating as a non profit, achieving 501c3 status, running a successful fundraiser, hired a part time administrator and begun developing the processes that will enable us to grow further. Nothing would have been possible without our incredible volunteers and board members. Some examples of our work are as follows:
As we enter our second year we look forward to the planning of our first dinner, in the first quarter of the year, and providing new services around hospitals and housing. Future fundraising will also help us further services to help patients, and their families, seeking treatment in the DFW area to both those who are visiting and those who live here. To that end, we are looking to add 3-5 new board members, enabling some of our current board members to cycle off as we implement two year terms and more structure to our board. We also invite volunteers who would like to get more involved with Bikur Cholim to apply for these positions to our nominating committee to take our organization to the next level.
