This dashboard reflects the new positive cases reported to the district between midnight and 11:59 p.m on the date denoted.

Data for each day will be updated as soon as possible, generally before noon on the next business day from the date denoted.

The dashboard information is provided to show trends of positive cases. It should not be considered a means to receive an official COVID-related notification. Students, teachers, or staff members are notified directly from the district or campus if they are potentially affected by a positive case or close contact encounter.

To count as a reportable case, it must be a lab-confirmed positive result and the individual must have been on a Hays CISD campus during their infectious period (48-hours prior to showing symptoms).

• Students in classes on this list are recommended to temporarily quarantine for potential COVID close contact exposure. Hays CISD uses a 10% positive case count per week (Monday - Friday) threshold to recommend students in a whole classroom or campus participate in temporary quarantine.
• Guidance from the Texas Education Agency, issued on September 20, 2021, specifically states: “...a district cannot exclude an entire class, grade level or campus – parents have the right to send students to school if not symptomatic.”
• The district has approximately 1,329 classrooms and 25 whole campuses.
