Math:
- The students will simplify expressions.
Science:
- Students will investigate how organisms respond to external stimuli found in the environment.
- Students will describe and relate responses in organisms that may result from internal stimuli.
Social Studies:
- The students will understand the influences of individuals and groups from various cultures and various historical and contemporary societies.
Reading:
- The students will understand and practice inferencing/making predictions.
- The students will practice reading independently each day.
Writing:
- Students will demonstrate and apply their knowledge of the writing process.
- Students will practice identifying and using vivid adjectives .
NOTE: GT students receive accelerated instruction as well as enrichment via GT Student and Parent Resources in Google Classroom.

● Guide Students through the following activities:
- Activity 1- Have your student look at the 4th Quarter Math Vocabulary sheet and they will copy the next 5 terms (6-10) into their Math Vocabulary Slides project. If they do not have internet access, you will use the Vocabulary Sheet that is in the packet this week and students will copy the next 5 terms (6-10) on a piece of paper.
- Activity 2 - Parents encourage your kids to look at their notes and review videos at the bottom of the page in resources.

- Activity 1:This week you will continue your 4th Quarter Math Vocabulary . Take the 4th Quarter Vocabulary list and complete the next 5 words (6-10) in your Vocab Google Slides project. If you don't have internet access, you will copy the next 5 words (6-10) on a piece of notebook paper and take a picture and send it to your teacher.

For Parents
● Guide Students through the following activities:
- Activity 1 - Help students brainstorm different stimuli and responses to that stimuli found in the environment or internally.
- Activity 2 - Help the students identify what stimulus is happening internally and externally. The stimulus article is a review of the material and can help you on all activities this week.
- Activity 3- For this lab, students will need distilled water, a potato, and some salt. They may need some help cutting the potatoes. If these supplies are not available, they can watch a video of the experiment.
- Activity 4 - The directions include alternate instructions for those without internet access
For Students: If you want to write on the document, make a copy of the document in your drive and you can edit it there.
- Activity 1: Create a T chart of 10 real world examples of internal/external stimuli. Include 3 internal and 7 external examples
- Activity 2: Review the Stimulus material and then match the responses on the Homeostasis activity.
- Activity 3 : This lab looks at how water salinity effects turgor pressure in potato cells. Please make sure you practice safety standards and have your parents help you with cutting if you feel uncomfortable with knives. 200mL= 0.85cups. 40g of salt= 2.3 tablespoons. Alternatively, you can watch a video of the experiment if you do not have supplies.
- Activity 4: Look through the paintings on the Getty Museum virtual tour website. Choose two paintings that cause you to have an emotional response and record your reaction. The instructions include an alternative for those without the internet.
7th Texas History

- Activities 1 - 4- Students will focus on completing the information over Exploration and Colonization. Have them complete the questions for the activities below.

- Activity 1 - Have the students complete the survey for the week from your reading teacher. *An online form will be sent out by the Reading teacher via email and posted to Google classroom. Please email pics of the printed copy.
- Activity 2 - Choose one: Have the students watch the video on YouTube and respond OR answer the inferencing poem riddles. (This may be done on paper or in Google Classroom.)
- Activity 3-. Have the students complete “Making inferences practice.” (This may be done on paper or in Google Classroom.)
- Activity 4 - Students will read for 25 minutes,making an inference about a character, situation, or word meaning.
- Activity 5 - Have your student read independently or out loud for at least 20 minutes each day.
For Students
- Activity 1 -Students will complete the Google form Survey for the week. Your teacher will email it and it will be posted to the Google classroom. Please email pics of the printed copy.
- Activity 2 - Choose one: Online option-Students will watch the video on YouTube and respond on the True Move Commercial document OR Offline option- answer the inferencing poem riddles. (This may be done on paper or in Google Classroom.)
- Activity 3- Students will complete Making inferences practice. (This may be done on paper or in Google Classroom.)
- Activity 4: Students will read a book, magazine, graphic novel, ect. independently or out loud to a parent for at least 20 minutes then write 2-3 sentences on the Google Doc in Google Classroom or on a sheet of notebook paper making an inference about a character, situation, or word meaning.
- Activity 5 : Students will write a short paragraph (3-4 sentences) telling about what they learned or read about this week. Write on a Google Doc or sheet of notebook paper.

- Students will practice identifying and using vivid adjectives .

For Parents
● Guide students through the following activities: they may answer these things on a sheet of paper, Google Doc, or in their packet
- Activity 1: Have your student look over the How to Writing Board. They will choose one prompt from the choice board to write about. Encourage them to go through the entire writing process (planning, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing).
- Activity 2: Have your student complete the Vivid Adjectives Worksheet. Help your student by discussing different words that could best complete these mini activities.
- Activity 3: Have your student complete the Quizizz over adjectives. Please make sure they use their first and last name.
- Activity 4: Have your students keep a daily or weekly journal throughout this time. Have them journal their goals for next year. Encourage them to write some short and some long term goals. Have them talk about how they will achieve those goals.
- Activity 5: Give your student a blank piece of paper, notebook, or a word document to write a paragraph about a memorable event that happened at school this year. Have them look back over their writing and edit it. Have them specifically look for adjectives that they could change and make more vivid.
For Students
- Activity 1: How To Writing Board: Choose one writing prompt from the choice board and write about that topic. Try to go through the whole writing process. Plan your draft, write your rough draft, revise and edit, publish your paper!
- Activity 2: Complete the Vivid Adjectives Worksheet. You can complete this activity in Kami, on a printout, write answers on a blank piece of paper, or simply write it in a Google Doc.
- Activity 3: Complete the Quizizz over adjectives. Please remember to use your first and last name.
- Activity 4: In a notebook or in a word / Google Document, journal about your goals for next year. What do you plan to do? How will you achieve it? What might you change or do differently next year?
- Activity 5: In a notebook or in a word / Google Document, write a paragraph about a memorable event that happened at school. Edit: Take a second look at what you wrote and see if there are any adjectives that you could change to make more vivid.
