Pi Chapter Executive Meeting

Board Members Present: Diane Camiolo, Peggy Francis, Amy Fratz, Jackie Gould, Catherine Kelly, Helen Musumeci, Barbara Priggemeier, Beverly Siti, and Babette Wise
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 5:14 p.m. by President Catherine Kelly.
Secretary’s Report: The minutes of the April 5, 2021 Executive Meeting were approved (Camiolo/Gould) as written.
Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer Diane Camiolo reported balances of $2,330.79 in our checking account and $1,748.38 in our Stipend account. The report was filed for audit.
Diane also reported that the deadline for paying next year’s dues is June 30th. She has not received word as to whether dues will increase or remain the same.
The budget for 2021-22 will be prepared over the summer.
Correspondence: Barb Priggemeier has not received any new correspondence. Diane Camiolo received a thank you from the Center for Family Services for our donation.
President’s Report:
- President Catherine thanked those Pi Sisters who attended this year’s Convention.
- Board members who attended agreed that the Convention was well-organized, and the programs moved quickly. Specific events that were praised were the Celebration of Life, the Awards presentations, and the Induction Ceremony.
- Plans for the Birthday Celebration/General Meeting were made.
- Lori Bathurst has not yet responded to President Catherine’s request for the status of virtual programs from the Constitution Center.
- Mary Ellen Malloy will be asked to create a trivia-based activity.
- 25-Year Pins will be presented to Rosie Rucker, Pat Clark, Sue Clark, and Debbie Small.
- President Catherine hopes to be able to announce the recipients of this year’s Stipend Awards during the General Meeting but has been unable to connect with Lori Bathurst for this information. She will contact Michelle Marhefka and ask her to reach out to Lori.
- This year’s Planning Meeting is scheduled for June 17th at 10:00 a.m.
First Vice-President’s Report: Amy Fratz did not have any updates to report to the group.
Second Vice-President’s Report: Mary Ellen Malloy was not present at today’s meeting.
Committee Reports:
- Communications: Jackie Gould has submitted an article for the DKGNJ newsletter.
- Rules/By-Laws: Diane Camiolo and Babette Wise have begun working with Mary Ellen Malloy to update the wording of the Rules. They are waiting for the revised Stipend guidelines to be written.
- World Fellowship: Although there has been no communication regarding the World Fellowship program this year, Beverly Siti received a warm thank you note from Gugulethu Moyo for the love and support Pi Chapter has shown her during her studies at Texas Tech University.
- Book Club: Beverly Siti announced that Pi’s Book Group will discuss Eternal by Lisa Scottoline via Zoom on May 12, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.
- Social/Hospitality: Helen Musumeci explained her past efforts to encourage our four Pi Sisters Evelyn Zelke, Marie Plum, Marge Wadja, and Sally Jordan, who are unfamiliar with technology, to attend our virtual events. A suggestion was made to send them a birthday-themed card in celebration of Pi Chapter’s 38th birthday.
Old Business: No old business was discussed.
New Business: There was no new business to discuss.

- 2021-22 Planning Meeting – Thursday, June 17th
