Course Syllabus

This course is the second year of a two-level program designed to meet state standards for high school Biology. It continues to introduce students to the scientific process of posing and testing hypotheses. Students will study the chemistry of life, the structure and functions of cells, genetics, and anatomy. A solid understanding of these processes will allow students to make informed decisions about their health and the health of the planet. Instruction will involve classroom lessons, demonstrations, discussions, and laboratory work.

Grading System

50%         Formative Assessments                Classwork, Notes, Edpuzzles, Projects/Activities

30%        Summative Assessments                Word of the Day Quizzes, Study Guides, Labs

20%        Participation                                Daily Points (up to 3 per day)

Missed Work

Any missed work must be made up within one week of the end of each Unit.
