This Privacy Policy is for all International Users of English EGG’s EGG & BOOKS Mobile Applications.

English Egg Co., Ltd (“Company”) knows that the Users of the Company’s online and mobile application services care about how information is used and shared, and the Company takes Users' privacy very seriously.

This Privacy Policy explains how the Company may collect, use, and disclose information that the Company obtains through its “Services” (comprising of online services, sites and/or mobile applications) provided pursuant to the set terms. “Personal Information” means information that alone or when in combination with other information may be used to readily identify, contact, or locate you, such as your name and email address. The Company does not consider Personal Information to include information that has been aggregated and/or de-identified so that it does not allow a third party to easily identify a specific individual.

By downloading, accessing, using, and/or interacting with the Service, the user agrees and expressly consents to the Company’s collection, use and disclosure of the information the User provides as described in this Privacy Policy. If the User has any concerns about providing information to the company or the use of that information as described in this Privacy Policy the User should not use the Service provided by the Company.

THIS IS A BINDING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE USER AND THE COMPANY BY USING THE SERVICE, THE USER AGREES TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. 1. Collection of Information

The Company collects information, including Personal Information, when the User:

-       Registers with and logs into application log-in

-       Contacts the Company support team; and

-       Communicates with the Company.

The Company also collect information, such as anonymous usage statistics, by using cookies, server logs, and other similar technology.

 

A. Using the Service

The Company collects information that the user submits to the Company through this app. For example, when the User uses mobile device contents that come with the book purchase, the User may sign-up for an account during which the Company collects Personal Information.

B. Contact Us (Message):

The Company collects and processes information that the User has provided, including any Personal Information, in the context of composing, sending, or receiving messages through the Company’s messaging function and the Company may collect information about the use of the Service.

C. Support Team:

The Company collects information that the User provides to the Company, including any Personal Information, when the User contacts the Company’s support team.

D. Location Data:

Once the User registers to the EGG BOOKS app, the Company may collect and process information about the User(s) location. This location information is collected based on the User IP address and is restricted to the name of the User’s located city.

The EGG BOOKS does not use other service or technologies to determine the User’s location (the Company does not use GPS, or other sensors). The Company does not collect location information about the User’s exact location (i.e. name of the street or accurate address). When the Company has location information, the Company may use it to optimize the Service for the User and also to allow the Company to customize, understand and improve the Service and develop new products, the Services, or features.

2. Use of Collected Personal Information

The Company uses information collected from the User to:

Provide, administer, and facilitate the User’s use of the Company’s Service, including customized content; in the process of fulfilling the User request(s), service, information features including the use of specific functionalities of the Company’s Service and application functionalities; to display consumer surveys, to communicate with the User concerning the User

Respond to the User raised questions or concerns.

Send the User administrative messages and information, about changes to the Service, and updates to the Company terms and conditions including this Privacy Policy.

Email the User relevant information or providing in-mobile-application messages about the new services, features, promotions, newsletters, which the User can opt out of at any time, and/or sending push notifications to the User mobile devices. The User can manage push notifications from the device “settings” or from the application.

Improve the Services and develop new products, the Services or features;

Enable user-to-user communication and interaction;

Facilitate the technical functioning of the Company’s Service, including without limitation to troubleshoot and resolve issues, secure the Services, and prevent fraud and abuse;

Respond to customer support questions and issues and resolve disputes;

Solicit feedback from the Users as required or permitted by law.

As the Company in its sole discretion otherwise determines to be necessary or required to ensure the safety and/or integrity of the User(s), employees, third parties, member of the public, and/or the Company’s Service.

Aggregate Data:

The Company may de-identify and aggregate information collected through the Service and use it for any lawful purpose.

3. Disclosure of Information to Third Parties

The Company may share the User information with the following third parties or under the following circumstances or as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy:

Third Party Business Partners, Service Providers, Contractors or Agents:

The Company may share the User information with third party companies that perform services on the Company’s behalf, including for order fulfillment, scheduling, data analysis, marketing services, advertising services including not limited to re-targeted advertising), email and hosting services, services that process and administer consumer surveys, and provide certain services to the User in connection with the Services. Those partners’ collection and use of information is subject to their privacy policies and other terms. The User should review such privacy policies, terms, and other agreements.

Analytics and Data Enrichment Services:

The Company uses third-party analytics to help understand the User usage of the Company’s Services and to improve the Service. The Company may provide the User contact information, technical information, usage data, or de-identified data to data enrichment services, which match such information with publicly available database information, including contact and social information from other sources, such as the User email address.

Marketing

The Company do not rent, sell, or share Personal Information about the User with other people or non-affiliated companies for their direct marketing purposes, unless the Company has the User permission. The Service may allow the User to opt-in to receive communication from third parties. If the User gives us the permission to share the user’s Personal Information with such third parties, then the User may receive communication from such third parties, and you are solely responsible for your engagement with such third parties.

As required by the law and disclosures, the Company may access, preserve and disclose the User’s Personal Information or other account information if we believe doing so is required or appropriate to (a) comply with the rule of law, and enforced by law and legal process; (b) respond to the Users requests; or (c) protect the User and the Company’s rights, property, or safety.

Consent:

The Company may disclose the User provided personal Information with the User’s permission.

4. Security

The Company take steps to ensure that the User information is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy. The Company will always be cautious and aware about the security of personal information, however, no information system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so the Company cannot guarantee the absolute security of the User information.

The Company is not responsible for the security of information that the User transmits to the Services over networks that the Company do not control, including the internet and wireless networks.

 

5. Change and Deletion of Account Information

A User can change information that the User had provided when registering the book code to the User’s devices, including by adding or removing device information, by updating device information through using the “Device Management” tool. In addition, at any time, the User may contact the Company support team to request for the Service support or review, deletion from the Company’s records, any Personal Information the User may have provided about his/herself and/or any child associated with the account. Please keep in mind that a request to delete Personal Information may lead to cancellation or deletion of the book code used when unlocking individual content(s) of the book the user had purchased.

When the Company changes or deletes any Personal Information at the User request, the Company will make good faith efforts to make the changes in the Company’s active databases as soon as practicable. Changing setting options may not result in immediate changes to the settings, which are subject to the Company’s operations and maintenance schedules.

6. International Users

The Company stores information about the User on servers located internationally. If the User is accessing the Company’s service, please know the data and Personal Information the User submits may be transferred to and stored on servers in South Korea and/or other countries. The data protection and other laws of the South Korea or other countries might not be as comprehensive as those in the User’s country. By submitting the User’s data and/or using the Company’s Service, you consent to the transfer, storing and processing of the User’s data in and to South Korea and other countries where the Company may choose to store data.

7. Changes to Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may change over time and the effective date of this policy can/may be modified. If the Company modifies the terms or conditions of this Privacy Policy, the Company will post a notification of the Company’s change(s) and User’s will be subject to the updated Privacy Policy. If the User ceases to use the Service after such changes, the User’s discontinued use shall not constitute acceptance of such changes and such changed shall not apply to you. Any revised Privacy Policy will take the place of all previous Privacy Policies.

8. New Uses of Personal Information

From time to time, the Company may desire to use Personal Information for uses not previously disclosed in the Company’s Privacy Policy. If the Company’s practices change regarding previously collected Personal Information in a way that would be materially less restrictive than stated in the version of this Privacy Policy in effect at the time the Company collected the information, then the Company will make reasonable efforts to provide notice and obtain consent to any such uses as may be required by law.

9. California (US) Privacy Policy

Following the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (Also known as “CCPA”), in this part of the policy the following additional details regarding the list of categories of Personal Information about California residents that we may collect or disclose as follows:

-       The company may collect the following categories of Personal Information:

A.        Online identifiers, names and contact information;

B.        Personal Information, as defined in the California customer records law, such contact information and name;

C.        Protected classification under California or federal law, such as sex, age and race;

D.        Geolocation data, such as device location and IP location;

As above, the Company collect this Personal Information from the User and from other categories of sources, including available databases, authors and joint marketing partners, social media platforms, and third party service platforms, and the Company business affiliates, clients and partners, when they share Personal Information with us.

As mentioned in this policy, the Company may use this Personal Information to operate, manage and maintain the business, to provide the Company products and services and to accomplish the business objectives, which includes: develop, improve, update and maintain the products and services; personalize, advertise , and market the products and services; conduct research, analytics, and data analysis; maintain the Company’s infrastructure, undertake quality and safety assurance measures; conduct risk and security control and monitoring; detect and prevent fraud; perform identification verification; accounting, audit, and other internal functions; comply to rules of laws, legal process, and internal policies; maintain record; and exercise and defend legal claims.

The Company may disclose the following Personal Information to third parties for the Company’s business operational purposes:

A.     Online identifiers, name and contact information provided by the User at the time of registration;

B.        Personal Information as defined in the California customer records law, such as name and contact information;

C.        Internet or network activity information, such as browsing history, online behavior, interest data and interactions with the any electronic or web interactions;

D.           Geolocation data, such as device location and IP location;

If the User is a resident of California, he/she may request that the Company:

Disclose to the User the following information covering the 12 months preceding the User’s request:

A.           The Personal Information collected by the User and the categories of sources from which the Company collect Personal Information;

B.           The specific pieces of Personal Information the Company collected about the User;

C.           The business or commercial purpose for collecting Personal Information about the User;

D.          The Personal Information about the User that the Company otherwise shared or disclosed, and the list of third parties with whom the Company disclosed such Personal Information (if applicable).
