A note from our Trustees!

Are you wondering what’s going on around here?

Well, that’s a good question – There is always something going on here at Aldersgate!

But, with the possible property sale and all kinds of other projects looming out there – We wanted to make sure we do our best to keep everyone informed as to what is going on “behind the scenes” once the various approvals are made by the church council and/or membership. Here is an update on the two biggest projects going on right now:

Property Sale:

As you should be aware, the Church Council and a Special Church Conference have both recently approved moving forward with exploring an offer by another company to buy portions of our Ryders Lane properties. The approvals are to sign a “Letter of Intent” that schematically lays out the terms that will form the basis for a Contract for Sale at a later date.

While the existing LOI was approved for ratification, we, along with our Real Estate attorney and resident legal expertise, suggested a few minor modifications to make the terms even more favorable for us as the seller.  We are awaiting the proposed buyer’s response and final version of the LOI which should be ready for signature at that time. We will keep you posted as we move forward.

Solar Panel Project:

This project has been in the works for over 5 years and was only finally approved several months ago by the Church Council.  Ever since then, it has been held up in paperwork limbo ever since!  Our contractor EZEnergy of Toms River continued to work diligently behind the scenes to keep things moving forward by pulling permits and ordering equipment. Then, in a surprise move, they decided to cut out the entity that was causing the paperwork-jam and deal with us themselves, maintaining all existing terms and conditions from our original deal.

And just like that we were off and running...  Over the last week, our roof has sprouted metal brackets, panel racks, inverters, and over two hundred new solar panel! This system will end up producing almost 75KwH of solar energy at peak performance. The great thing is that the system costs us nothing out-of-pocket and we get to “keep” and sell the energy we produce. This should significantly offset or even eliminate the money we currently pay for electricity.  Now we want those bright sunny days more than ever!

Anyone that wishes to see this work in progress can speak with Kevin and he can arrange a tour on the roof or would be glad to show some pictures if you wish to stay closer to the ground. We should be fully connected with the utility grid and operational by June at the latest, if not sometime in May.

Also – if you are interested in using solar energy on your house or business, our contractor will make a significant donation to the church for any system they install that references our referral. What a great way to give back to Aldersgate as well as the environment! Again, ask Kevin for details and contact information.

We hope everyone is excited about these great projects that are in the works! We will do whatever we can to keep everyone informed along the way as more news becomes available. If you have any questions or concerns do not ever hesitate to call or message Kevin Helsby at 732-674-5662 or Email him at Thanks for all you do to support Aldersgate and make these projects possible!

Have a Blessed Week!  See you in Church!
