SEPTEMBER 8, 2021 Campus Notification: COVID-19

On September 8, the university received notification about two separate cases of individuals testing positive for COVID-19. They were asymptomatic, and were tested through the university's standard weekly testing process on September 7th. The university was notified of the positive test on September 8th.

In the first case, an individual that has been on campus September 7-8 in the Murchie Science Building and the Recreation Center and they may have been potentially infectious with the virus.

In the second case, an individual was on campus September 7-8 in the William S. White Building and Recreation Center, and they may have been potentially infectious with the virus.

Contact tracing is being conducted and will continue in these cases. If anyone is identified as a “close contact” they will be contacted directly regarding any next steps.

We strongly encourage all members of the campus community to remain vigilant against COVID-19 by adhering to health and safety precautions designed to mitigate the spread of the virus.
