- Treasurer’s Report
- A large part of the PTO Budget goes to fulfilling teacher requests. So far the year we’ve spent $5400 on teacher requests.
- We are open to fulfilling most request that we receive.
- Most of the funds go to teachers and classroom supplies and teacher appreciation. We also fund scholarships for students so they can participate in activities. We help club activities and other specific line items as they come up (ex. Last year’s time capsule for OMS 100th year). We also serve as a pass-thru for funds for the 8th grade activities.
- We are starting the year with $23,000
- The Annual Fund direct fundraising drive is the largest fund raiser for the PTO
- This is a mailing to all of the households and will be sent out Oct/Nov time frame
- We will also organize the food/restaurant fund raisers: Abbotts, Del’s, WECO Hospitality, Blue Ribbon, etc.
- Also looking into a Red Sox ticket fundraiser
Principal’s Discussion
Brian Meringer - Ottoson Middle School
- Things have gone pretty well with the opening of school
- If you know of anyone that wants to be a TA, substitute or nurse – we need to fill those positions
- We are working on morale with teachers and would love to get the teachers more swag. T-shirts, small gifts, things to create community and bring up morale
- Our website is getting updated and all schools are moving to the same platform
Next PTO Meeting Date/Time: October 18, 2022 (Ottoson) and tentatively Nov. 1 at Gibbs
