Eisenhower Families:

We wish all of our families a wonderful Derby weekend!

Thanks to everyone who helped celebrate the amazing staff at Eisenhower last week during Teacher Appreciation Week! We felt your love and appreciation! Thanks to all who supported our Mrs. Beckmann and Mrs. Borders’ fifth grade classes in the Big Business student expo yesterday. Big fun was had by all and our students learned so much about launching a business, advertising, resources and inventory and budgeting. Thanks to all who celebrated Derby here during the primary classes Derby Hat Parade!

The Family Resource Center is sponsoring our Annual Muffins with Moms on Tuesday, May 7 from 8-8:30 am. We hope to welcome our Moms and Eagles for an early breakfast of muffins and coffee for moms and a full school breakfast for students (per Nutrition Services guidelines). Moms are invited to welcome our students during arrival with cheers and high fives at the front-loading dock and in the car rider line from 8:30-9:00 am.  

The PTA is hosting a family celebration for Eisenhower’s 50th year with a 50’s Family Dance on Friday, May 10. Dress in your favorite 1950’s styles and join in the fun. We will have a DJ playing some classics, food, photo props and contests to celebrate. Join us from 6-8:00 pm on May 10!

The JCPS Student Transfer Office will start receiving Student Transfer Requests for the 2019-20 school year on Monday, May 6. The application must be submitted online at: https://www.jefferson.kyschools.us/schools/how-apply/student-transfers If you need assistance or have a question about this process, you may contact our school office.

KPREP Testing: Students in grades 3, 4 and 5 will begin KPREP testing soon. Please ensure that no outside appointments are schedule on these dates: May 20, 22, 23, 24, 28.

Starting Kindergarten? Registration is open for Camp Ready4K, the Jefferson County Public School (JCPS) District’s kindergarten readiness camp serving incoming students the summer before they start school. Please share with families of incoming kindergarten students.  

Applications must be completed by May 10 in order to be considered for Camp Ready4K. Camp will be held July 11 through July 31, from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., at the following locations:

·         Blue Lick Elementary (9801 Blue Lick Road)

·         Cochrane Elementary (2511 Tregaron Avenue)

·         Dawson Orman Education Center (900 S Floyd Street)

·         DuValle Education Center (3610 Bohne Avenue)

·         Hazelwood Elementary (1325 Bluegrass Avenue)

·         Riverport Early Childhood Center

·         Tully Elementary (3300 College Drive)

·         Unseld Learning Center (5216 Ilex Avenue )

Families can complete an application online here. During the camp, incoming kindergarten students receive instruction from early learning teachers to ensure that they have the skills necessary to be successful in kindergarten. Students are also provided with breakfast and lunch.
