WALT: persuade others to save the planet

For our Earth Shot challenge task, we are learning about sustainability and what has happened to our planet in the 1900s. A huge event was that the ozone hole was discovered and scientists realised the negative impact humans were having on the planet.

You are going to choose an idea relating to sustainability, and come up with 3 arguments for this point of view.

Remember when we are trying to influence others, some features we can include in our writing are:

In my writing, I will…

My Writing:

Endangered Earth!

Ever since people came to Earth our planet has gotten really dirty. Animals are going extinct from us littering, trees are getting cut down leaving living beings with less oxygen. Did you know, that you can recycle a lot when you put your mind to it!

Animals Going Extinct

Animals are going extinct because they are mistaking our rubbish for their food and people are hunting some animals down. Animals are living beings and it’s not fair that we are injuring them or worse, killing them.

If you believe in protecting animals then don’t think twice about what you know is right!

Stop Cutting The Trees

People are cutting down trees leaving living beings with less oxygen. Trees don’t just give us oxygen but they also grow fruit for us to eat. If anything I feel sorry for trees, getting cut down, people standing on their roots and even people carving things into their trunk. Can you believe that some people are actually that selfish??? 15 billion trees get cut down per year, that is outrageous!

Recycle More

We need to recycle more often, so many things get thrown away everyday. You can make so much with rubbish and yet people never realise it. If you can see how much we need to recycle, don't ever hesitate and just do it. 100 million marine animals die per year from our rubbish. 100, 000 million animals die from people trying to take the rubbish off them. This is only the ones we find, can you imagine how many more are out there? This is horrific!!!

Make a difference in the world

Next time you see rubbish on the ground, don’t just leave it sitting there waiting for an animal to come and eat it, pick it up and make a difference in our planet. Remember everything you’ve just read and do something about it! Stand up for what you think is right. Do you think that what we could be doing compared to what we are doing could make a difference in not only ours but also all the other living beings lifes???
