Elizabeth R. Ricker is the internationally award-winning author of “Smarter Tomorrow: How 15 Minutes of Neurohacking A Day Can Help You Work Better, Think Faster, and Get More Done” (Little, Brown Spark/Hachette). Her background is in neuroscience and technology, with degrees from MIT and Harvard. She lectures around the world, conducts research, and consults with Silicon Valley venture capital firms, startups, schools, and the Fortune 500. She also runs two organizations: Ricker Labs and Neuroeducate.
Her first book, Smarter Tomorrow, was a 2022 Nautilus Book Award winner (an international, expert-juried competition). It was chosen by The Wall Street Journal as one of "12 Books to Start a Smart New Year", as well as one of the “Top Book Bites of 2021” by New York Times bestselling authors Malcolm Gladwell, Susan Cain, Adam Grant, and Dan Pink’s Next Big Idea Club.
The book has been translated into Japanese, Korean, and Romanian; Russian and Chinese are coming soon. Smarter Tomorrow has sold among the top 700 books on all of Amazon and has hit #1 in multiple categories.
Stanford neuroscientist, New York Times bestselling author, and host of the PBS show “The Brain with Dr. David Eagleman” said this about Smarter Tomorrow: "If you're a brain owner...this is the guidebook you're going to want." Harvard Magazine called Smarter Tomorrow "cognitive enhancement...in approachable bite-sized bits".
To spread ideas outside of her writing, Ricker founded two organizations: Ricker Labs, which focuses on helping both companies and individuals, and NeuroEducate, a citizen science organization that teaches people of all ages how to apply neuroscience, DIY hacking, and scientific experimentation to their everyday lives. Ricker’s work has been featured worldwide, including on public broadcast TV in Europe, The Hindu (India), as well as in Fast Company, Psychology Today, Harvard Magazine, and in the book “Science Not Silence" (MIT Press).
Ricker received her undergraduate degree in Brain and Cognitive Sciences from MIT and her graduate degree in Mind, Brain, and Education from Harvard. In college, she worked in the neuroscience lab of Nobel Prize winner Dr. Susumu Tonegawa, and she built educational technology at the MIT Media Lab.
At various points, Ricker has been a singer in a rock band, a nationally ranked athlete, and she was elected president of her class at MIT during her freshman year — a position which occasionally involved dressing up in a giant rodent costume to play Tim the Beaver, the school’s mascot.

What if you could upgrade your brain in 15 minutes a day? In Smarter Tomorrow, an MIT and Harvard-trained brain researcher turned Silicon Valley technologist shows you how.
You will end up better able to:
To do this, you will learn:
Best of all, you will learn a rigorous system to evaluate any brain hack. You will get access to 20 customizable self-experiments and a sample 12-week schedule.
While you're learning, you'll have fun. Smarter Tomorrow author Elizabeth R. Ricker guides you on a wild and edifying romp through the cutting-edge world of neuroscience and biohacking. You'll encounter Olympic athletes, a game show contestant, a memory marvel, a famous CEO, and scientists galore.
Join a quest for the Holy Grail within each of us: the optimized brain.
In Smarter Tomorrow, Ricker shares the spoils of her decade long adventure. After countless expert interviews, poring through hundreds of research studies from around the world, and testing dozens of tools on herself - including nicotine, video games, meditation, and even a little-known beverage from the Pacific islands - she explains how some experiments failed hilariously, while others transformed her cognition. She was able to sharpen her memory, increase her attention span, boost her mood, and clear her brain fog. By following Ricker's customizable system, you'll uncover which approaches work best to boost performance in your unique brain.
