About the position
Job or position title: | Riverside Lounge Organizer & Host |
Number of positions available: | Unlimited, but 2-3 would be nice |
Work Schedule/hours: | Tue/Wed/Thur, 9-4 at the café + whenever for organizing. Very flexible & great if folks could commit to at least 1 day a week at the Café. |
Required Orientation/Training dates? | There’s some reading that we’d like people to do. It’s flexible, though. |
Program Description: | We’re a start-up free restaurant that’s trying to build community and connection in the face of social isolation in and around the Marcy-Holmes neighborhood of Minneapolis. Start-ups are a beautiful chaos. You’ll learn |
Job Duties and Tasks: | Organizing – Help us figure out how best to tell the story of Riverside Lounge and to invite people to visit our space. Hosting – Welcome people to the lounge and hold the space. Learn to hear the stories of those who visit the lounge + identify the hopes, dreams and longings therein. Building – Based on the stories that start to surface in the community identify opportunities for the lounge to create more offerings (classes, projects, food, etc) |
Previous experience, major, or languages required or preferred: | Any. A willingness to learn about community organizing + community building is the most important thing. |
