Come and S.M.I.L.E here at Summer Camp at Pinnacle Health and Fitness! We are looking for adventurous 13,  14 and 15-year-olds to attend our summer camp as counselors in training (CIT and Jr CIT).  As a counselor in training, you will develop leadership skills while participating in fun and engaging activities such as arts and crafts, court games, trips, assemblies, and outside activities.  Through our CIT program, you will be mentored by several of our camp counselors while also experiencing what it is like to be a camp counselor in a mature and professional environment.

Counselor in Training Program

Counselors in Training will be assigned to a specific counselor whom he or she will be shadowing throughout their training at Summer Camp at Pinnacle Health and Fitness.  CITs will be required along with our counselors, to participate in activities with our summer campers such as Dance, Yoga, outdoor/indoor games, etc.  CITs are expected to interact with the campers as well as assist our counselors and aides with the campers in their groups throughout the day. CITs are required to follow the same guidelines as our counselors and assistant counselors including but not limited to our cell phone and social media policy.  The goal of our CIT Program is to train and prepare our CITs for possibly being hired as a Summer Camp counselor or Assistant Counselor at Pinnacle Health and Fitness in the future.

CIT Roles and Responsibilities

• Refill first aid kits (bandaids, ice packs, etc can be found in the supply closet)
• Refill any additional material needed by counselors for the backpacks
• Fill the water coolers in the morning with ice and water
• Assist counselors with taking campers to and from various destinations (ie: bathroom, cubby, outside, inside, swim lessons (providing there is a counselor 18yrs of age in the locker room/pool deck).
• Assist with preparing lunches for campers
• Assist with art/STEM projects
• Assist with basic needs of campers while with an assigned group
• Replenishing “Thomas Tokens” and dry erase markers
• Setting up and running of any Halloween Activities during Halloween week
• Setting up and running of our Carnival (August 15th)
• Setting up and running of our Pinnacle Performers talent show
• Setting up games and activities

Additional Information for CIT’s

• You can order hot lunches on Friday for Monday lunches and Thursday for Pizza Fridays via the Pinnacle App.
• Cellphones are only permitted for emergency use only and there is no video or  picture taking allowed of any of the campers at any time. –NO SCROLLING ON CELLPHONES
• All CIT belongings can be kept in the cubbies to the left of the dojo. You can travel around with your water bottle and a small drawstring backpack.
• Lunch will occur during your group's lunch time.  You can have lunch in the Pinnacle lobby or Premiere lobby.  You are not required to eat lunch with campers.

Description of Counselor/Assistant Counselor Role

Each Counselor and Assistant Counselor are assigned to a group of campers for the entire summer. Responsibilities include: supervising, organizing and playing games with the campers both inside and outside, providing medical assistance if campers are injured, and above all encouraging, enlightening, and educating the campers. SMILE Summer Camp looks for candidates that will make each child's summer a memorable and enjoyable experience.

CITs are NOT guaranteed a spot on Trips.  They must register for trips via the Pinnacle App. CITs are not required to pay for onsite activities as they will be participating in assisting campers.

I have read and understand the expectations of being a CIT at Summer Camp at Pinnacle Health and Fitness and I fully accept my role as a CIT and I agree that I will do my best to meet these expectations.  I also agree that if I do not meet these expectations I will be removed from the CIT program and jeopardize any future possibility of employment as an Assistant Counselor/Counselor.
