Carrot Purée

~ 10 carrots will yield approx. 4 cups of carrot puree

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Place carrots and ¼ cup of water into a small pot over medium heat.
  2. Stir occasionally. Let carrots steam until they become soft.
  3. When soft, take carrots off of heat and place on the counter.
  4. Using an immersion blender or standing blender, blend carrots until a creamy and smooth consistency forms.
  5. When done, transfer puree to a glass container and let it cool completely before putting it in the fridge.
  1. You can also freeze small portions of the purée in a freezer safe tray or container. I use the Wee Sprout silicone mold to freeze 1oz serving sizes.
  2. Once the portions are frozen, I pop them out of the mold and store them in a freezer safe bag labeled with the day I made them and the expiration date.
  1. When ready to serve, portion out your baby's meal into a separate bowl.
  2. If needed, add liquid of your choice (breastmilk, formula or water) to the puree until you reach the desired consistency for your baby.

Note: Refrigerated Carrot Purée is good for 3 days. Frozen Carrot Purée is good for 3 months.

Enjoy!
