The RULER program at SES

Last week's Back-to-School night for K-2 featured another opportunity for parents to learn about RULER, Yale's program on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and its implementation at SES. Parents learned about the underlying principles behind RULER, and were able to see RULER in action through their children's Classroom Charter, an important foundational document for creating a climate of emotional security in the classroom. Grades 3-5 parents will have an opportunity to learn more at Back-to-School night tomorrow. To learn more about what RULER is, it's implementation at SES, and the opportunity for family involvement please CLICK HERE and HERE. Keep an eye out for information in the Scoop each week regarding RULER and how you can support this program at home.

The Saugatuck Spotlight!

This week we shine the spotlight on our wonderful School Psychologist, Jenn Fenty.

If I wasn’t a School Psychologist I would want to be a . . . veterinarian because I love animals.

If I could visit anywhere it would be . . . Iceland because I want to see the Northern Lights.

My first concert was . . . NKOTB! New Kids on the Block.

Little known fact about me . . . I have a little Pitbull named Olive that loves to watch Animal Planet.

If I could only eat one food for the rest of my life it would be . . . Pizza from Johnny's in Mt.Vernon, NY.

A Scoop of Thanks Goes To…

Jessie McEntee and Sara Scully for organizing the wonderful room parents who do so much for all of us all year long!

Kris Jandora, Dani Lueker, Rebecca Oren, and Kim Shapiro--the stellar Library Volunteer Committee--for getting the library volunteers up and running for the 2018-19 school year!

Michelle Hopson and Denise Nahmias for keeping the logowear sales going strong at Back to School Night!
